Beautiful, sunny, fall day: high of 72; currently 37. Hunter’s pancake breakfast at the church and then me and my Montefeltro are off pheasant hunting. Everybody have a great day!

I know I posted this morning but don't see it. Anyway it WAS 53° this morning and now a balmy 72°. That's really mild for here. I had cereal, banana and coffee for breakfast. The general and I went to the range today. He shot his .308 Ruger at 200. He's getting really good grouping less than an inch. I went to the pistol range and shot .38 special through my Vaquero .357 at the steel targets. I still need to file a little off the front sight but I'm used to the hold.

Folgers and Orios. :D

It's supposed to get to 74 today and tomorrow. Indian Summer I guess, but I think you need a freeze first to qualify for that.
Finished the tractor yesterday afternoon and also changed the oil and blades on the Toto zero turn mower. Love that thing. :D

Then I cut out two more cutting boards for the wife. I had replaced her cutting board in the kitchen and made another with the oak I had left. Then she suggested that if I made two more she could give on to each of the daughters. OK. I cut them out and sand them down, then she takes them to the kitchen where she cures them with many coats of mineral oil. They really are pretty when she's done.

Not sure what today will bring yet. It's early.

33 with a light frost heading to a beautiful sunny 68 degree day. When I was last out with the pup it was still dark and the sky was full of bright stars. Saw my old hunting buddy Orion smiling down on me.

Today is into Spokane to see the Doc for routine maintenance and then several stops on the way home. Wally’s for coffee is the most important! :D Hoping to get home early enough to spend some time outdoors doing chores as starting this coming weekend we will be entering a pretty wet pattern for several days. Makes me think the drought will be over. Outdoor burning just opened up as did a parcel of DNR land we use for a target range. Range has been closed since late June due to fire danger.

Hatch dog I see this headline: Washington State fires football coach Nick Rolovich, 4 assistants for refusing state-mandated COVID-19 vaccine

Folgers and cookies.
Supposed to hit 75 today and then turn cold overnight with rain tomorrow. We need rain.
Going to the range this morning and this afternoon I think I will pull the dock out of the lake.
If you leave then in the water the ice will destroy them. :o

29 with a light frost and later it should be a nice sunny 65 degree day. Tomorrow brings rain but Thursday is supposed to be like today. Then Friday starts a period of on and off rain for several days.

Yep, Washington State University fired the head coach and four of his assistants for not getting the vax. Coach Rolovich stood his ground, requested an exemption which the University declined and is now unemployed. Our governor declared that all state employees are required to get the vax. Home game this Saturday and I’m expecting to hear chants of “lets go Brandon” if the PAC 12 network has the courage to broadcast it. Best to you coach Rolovich.

Today I plan to take advantage of the nice weather and clean the gutters and do a final pine needle raking and mowing. Grass quit growing but the mower sucks up the needles nicely.

45 going to 60 today.

Coffee today in the steel mug. I got a Keurig so I can have coffee on demand. I have to say, it's far better than nothing.

We needed to turn the heat on yesterday as the granddaughter came over for a visit. It's been a few days of nothing over 50 so it wasn't over 62 in the house. She needed it much warmer.

No plans today. I hope your day is good.

I've been using a Keurig for years. I only drink one cup in the morning and it suits me well. If you have the
special cup you can grind your own beans and use them in it as well. I just buy the Folgers cups.

I even have a second in our motorhome. Very handy.👍

Well, it's not morning, but I was just talking on the phone with a very old friend of mine. We went through
Army A&E school together, served a tour in VN close by, (close enough that we spent time off together), and then
went our own ways. I got out of the Army, he stayed in and retired a first shirt with a lot of combat flight
time in as a crew chief with the Cav.

I mentioned you folks and how I thought he would really fit in. He is an avid shooter, I mean really avid.
(No Henry's yet, but he's heard good things about them). He has a lot of firearms, lives on the desert in
New Mexico and is a really nice guy. He reads a lot, cooks a lot and just tries to enjoy life.
I've invited him to join us and hope he does. I have no idea what his handle will be, but I'll be watching for him.

weather wise another beautiful morning in central NC .... unfortunately, its not a very happy one .... in a few minutes we will be leaving to attend a funeral for friend and fishing buddy .... while he's truly better off, that doesn't seem to help much .... we will miss him ....
