We're enjoying a belated summer here in the UK, supposedly going up to around 19C later. It's a bright sunny Sunday morning - as opposed to dull gray overcast days for the past 3 months! Bring it on.

Your "past 3 months" sounds just like the winter season in northwest OR. I lived in the Willamette Valley there for over three years. My wife did not enjoy that season, but I really didn't mind the gray days and light rain so much...probably because it was such a mild temp at the same time.

I've never been to the UK, and would like to travel there someday. Enjoy your "belated summer," and have a great day!

I am trying to remember some old radio show that I listened to many, many moons ago about the MOTHMAN.

Did you ever hear that story on the radio or would you care to share what the story IS about the Mothman on here?

What do they tell you about the Mothman at the festival?

Good morning all from Jonesboro, Georgia. No mothman here! Also, no rain here, which is very depressing! Congrats Les on the beautiful weather. I guess I will have to re-think my concerns over not enough rain. But we do need some rain. 72 degrees this morning, or just over 22C, more clouds than sun, but not a great chance of rain. Having coffee this morning in my Yeti mug, a gift from my grand daughter. Found a Marlin, .410, JM stamped yesterday at the Swap Meet. I would love to have it. But it is difficult to me to justify the price for a .410. Going to think about that one for a while.

Since Les has addressed that stupid elephant in the room "Celsius", it's a beautiful day here too at 15C. I personally never liked the metric system here when they switched many years ago. I grew up with MPH, Fahrenheit, etc, and still measure everything in inches, feet, and all. I still rebel sometimes and change my truck gauges over to MPH
Tea time soon and it's Henry cleaning day, looking forward to sitting on the deck later with some cowboy tunes going and shine 'er up inside & out.

Update: Henry is cleaned and oiled and ready for for action again! Looks just like a new one!!

I had a softcover book when I was a kid about strange tales and myths, and one chapter was about the Mothman. PMC can correct me if I'm wrong, but some 7 or 8 foot moth creature was terrorizing the countryside over the years. It would fly over vehicles on dark country roads and stuff. Weird.

81* here at 11:55 with some humidity. I tried opening up the house this morning but after a few hours, I shut the windows and put the AC back on. The humidity in the house was up to 69% and we are to have rain later today into Monday which is much appreciated. I'll watch the race and some football today. Hope everyone has a pleasant day.

I had heard about the Mothman growing up not far from the Ohio River in southern Ohio. There is a statue of the Mothman and a small museum dedicated to it in Point Pleasent W.V.

We had a good time and some good food. It's a kid friendly festival with stuff for the whole family.

Now, if you are interested in UFOs, Bigfoot, Dogmen etc... The top authors and artist have booths and give seminars during the two day event also. After hearing some of the stories and seeing pictures it makes me glad I travel the woods with a Henry 45-70

Good morning all from Jonesboro, GA. We FINALLY received some much needed rain yesterday. Man, am I thankful for that rain. Here is more good news, it may rain again today. Just great news. Sitting here drinking coffee and enjoying not having to water plants this morning. Well, looks like I just could not resist picking up that Marlin .410 shotgun. I just don't see them for sale very often and decided to make the deal for it. Unfired, in the box, and well I just could not resist. Did I mention I like lever action rifles? lol

Good morning from Orange County, California. It's really nice to be home after 5 days of travelling through Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky.

Weather here is cloudy and 80 degrees today which I suppose is perfectly fine. It was nice to have a rain shower or two while I was in Kentucky.

It sure poured down rain last night. Haven't checked the rain gauge yet but am guessing its somewhere near a half inch.

Perfect timing for the summer heat & humidity to ramp up....Thursday is the first day of autumn! So guess this is the "Indian summer" that's often mentioned. We're predicted to hit low-90s today through Wednesday, then upper 80s throughout the weekend. Not exactly a "cool start" to the fall, but 'tis what is happening!
