Does the serial number contain the manufacture date or date code...?

I have an older H001 that I bought new from a local gun shop.
I am just wondering how old it is ..what year i purchased it.

so does the SN# contain the manufacture date or do I need to contact Henry customer service to get that information...

Contact Henry. They will give you the exact day the rifle became a legal firearm. I have a three-digit seri number H001 and it was made in 1999 in Brooklyn. I can’t remember the exact day.

Does yours have the plastic barrel band and front sight?

Well found The paperwork for the H001 Rifle it was purchased 7/15/2010 and it has a 7 digit SN# 6 numbers one letter.

I bet it was made before 2008. 22lr ammo was hard to find after the election and rimfire firearms weren’t selling like the centerfire reloaders.

Or I could be a mile off.

I just sent Henry an email asking the production date..(sent 9/22/2021)

And today ( one day later got my response) 9/23/2021...
They are really great people to deal with.
Okay the manufacture date is : 6/30/2010
so no the the manufacture date is NOT in the sn#.
