Morning, 70° here this am and headed for 79, but rain is in the forecast.
How about a little morning humor?

At a wedding ceremony, the pastor asked if anyone had anything to say
concerning the union of the bride and groom.
It was their time to stand up and talk, or forever hold their peace.
The moment of utter silence was broken by a young beautiful woman carrying
a baby. She started slowly walking toward the pastor.
Everything quickly turned to chaos.
The bride slapped the groom.
The groom's mother fainted.
The groomsmen started giving each other looks and wondering how best to
help save the situation.
The pastor asked the woman, "Can you tell us why you came forward? What do you have to say?" The woman replied, "We can't hear at the back."

51 heading to 72 with partly cloudy skies. We have a pretty robust rain coming in Friday afternoon with rain on and off thru the weekend. Man do we need it! Sounds like a great weekend to stay in and watch football.

Speaking of football, my brother does a pool where we select straight up 16 college and 14 NFL games not playing the odds, just straight up. And a second pool of just the NFL games where again we select straight up and give each game a point value of 1-14 using each number only once. Winner is the total points for the week and there is also another pool for end of season points total. Happy to report I was in a first place tie with two others for the college/NFL pool but lost in the tie breaker which is the Monday night game. Lots of fun particularly after not doing the pool last year. Pretty expensive to get in with the weekly cost of $1 for each of the three pools.

73° here early this morning. 77° now. High today should only reach lower 80's which is about 10° lower than normal. Cooked some steel cut oats this morning along with the coffee. Wish JEBar luck with the colonoscopy tomorrow. I've got a cystoscopy on the books for tomorrow afternoon. I'll ask the doc if he finds any loose change up there.

First morning of the season in the 30’s with 39 on my thermometer here at home and the official Deer Park temp is 35. Clear skies and a high in the 70’s is forecast. Starting tomorrow afternoon we are looking at several days of on and off rain. Finally!

Not much on tap today other than a guy from the DNR coming over at 8:30. The state has a cost share program for small forest owners to have tree limbing and thinning done for wildfire protection. We had the front 3 acres done in 2016 which I have continued with the cleanup. The state has funds available again so we’re looking at doing a couple more acres. Anyway, the DNR guy comes over first to approve the project. Nice to have a crew of young guys come in and do the heavy work then I can follow them and do the fine tuning.

60 going to 75 today. It rained all day yesterday.
Coffee in a scout mug today.
More taking it easy and letting the eye heal.
I'd like to make sauce next week, before all the tomatoes go bad.

I hope you all have a nice day.

Best of luck to Carol Coop. Keep us posted and tell her we are thinking about her. Went shooting yesterday with the flintlock. Starting to get the hang of the sparking rock guns. I really like it. That swinging duck at 50 yards was getting spanked quite often with that 54 caliber ball. 55 here right now headed to 91. Bike ride coming up looking forward to it.

Best wishes to Carol! Only 78° mid morning today. A bit overcast but only a 20% of rain. I made flapjacks, bacon, and coffee this morning. I really wasn't in the mood for them but that's what was requested. Going to go to the med center in a bit for the cystoscopy. Never had one done but the doc says it's an easy procedure. Just don't know how I feel about someone sticking a camera up my junk.
