75 yrs. old and still record setting performance with a 4spd !

Ray Paquet won his class at the NHRA Indy Nats. for the 30th time Labor Day weekend driving his original 1964 Ford Fairlane T-bolt Super Stocker. Ford built 50-75 of these back in 1964 with the hot FE 427 engine for Super Stock racing. Ray has owned this one since late 70's and at 75 yrs. old still bangs the gears with the 4 spd, running in the 8.60's or better at over 150 MPH ! I believe he has that thing figured out!
I know his brother Jim who ran a very well known race transmission shop up in Michigan and who built me a killer C-4 auto trans for my 85 Mustang when I was racing it. Great guys these two are!
Anyway here's the interview with some race footage. https://youtu.be/V7_kZyMoagk

If my memory serves me those cars had fiberglass front fenders and plexiglass windows to cut down on the weight. I can remember seeing them at the local drag strip in my younger days.
