Few Dollars update...

Post by Kissmybrass » Wed Sep 08, 2021 4:30 pm

I added a Skinner front lower profile brass sight and sling swivels. Found a nice simple leather sling for her. Still looking for a simple rear sight and left the stock alone - this is gonna be my camp/cabin rifle

I like what you have done with it. Are you looking for a receiver or tang sight?

No just steel. Simple Skinner peep on the receiver might be an option with a dove plug on the barrel for now.

Kmb, when you going to shoot that "new Original"? It should be kind of interesting to see how it behaves. I'm thinking no problems. Sure like the way it looks.

Was out of town and still need to order the rear sight and it'll be complete. I can't wait to shoot it!

Just put the Lyman sight on (and cracked it) so I'll see if it's worth repurchasing or not.

I have some simpler rear sights (steel) coming from Tracks of the Wolf. Between those and the Lyman I should have a winner. Bullseye sight from Marbles looks interesting too. Brass peep sight from Skinner is still in the mix if these don't work.

I bet a tool and die maker could take a hack saw blade and fit his little peep sight to that Lyman sight. Just a thought.
