following a breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and sliced tomato, I'm happy to say that we are back home after spending all morning involved in medical appointments .... it now seems like I can see a light at the end of the tunnel in dealing with a knee injury and intestinal issues that developed early in our stay in Estelline ....

Just Folgers for now. Carol will make a large breakfast for me later.
I am involved in the VFW and Legion, and this morning I will travel with a large
group of VFW members to perform a ceremony at a funeral for one of our own.
The when I get back I have to change and travel 45 minutes for a meeting
of the Legion's Holding Corp which I am a member of.
Going to be a busy day.
Expecting a nice weekend with family and friends coming to our place for Labor Day.
Grandkids and all. Should be fun.

43 and sunny heading to a high of 79. It sure feels like fall is in the air. I went for a short walk earlier snooping around the house being build on the parcel next door and had to add a layer. Nice morning for a walk.
After wrestling with two Group 27 batteries in the bilge of my boat I decided I’m too old and out of shape to do any engine maintenance on it. With past boats I have always done my own winterizing and oil changes but not no more! I’m dropping it off at a boat accessory/maintenance shop today and letting them do all the work. I read in the owners manual that there are seven drain plugs on the motor. I can just see me handing upside down in the bilge with a mirror trying to find them…….no thanks.
One week from tomorrow we’re leaving for the Salt Lake City area to pick up our new pup. More to follow……

No longer morning but it's been hot down here. Cooked eggs, sausage, toast and coffee for breakfast. The general and I got to the range for the first "line is hot" announcement. I shot my S&W 14 and he went down to the 200 yrd range to shoot his .308. We both had good outings.

And so the holiday weekend begins. Got some family coming in. I set up some targets yesterday. Nephew wants to shoot some. So, family in to visit, eat, and shoot some holes in paper. Looks to be a good day. Coffee is fine justweekend. I wish the best to the rest of you this weekend.

A balmy 51 this morning with the high around 80. It’s supposed to be a very nice weekend for all the Labor Day campers and travelers. Bravo Ma Nature!
Today’s goal is to winterize, wash and put the trailer away for the year. Way early this year to do this but we’re going to be busy with a new puppy starting a week from tomorrow so the season is done for us. Too bad as we love September travel.

Slept late. No coffee yet. Soon.
Did a funeral yesterday with the VFW Honor Squad. Went well. Then another meeting last night ran late.
Supposed to clear up today and I need to mow.
Big weekend coming up.
I need coffee..........

A mostly clear day, low 60's that will stop in the low 70;s today.
A blend of Paul DeLima, Chock full o' Nuts, and Boca Java coffee. Coffee with "plain Jane" this morning. I'm changing more light fixtures today. She didn't like some of the old ones, so plenty of new ones. I have to laugh, one of the fixtures came with a pair of white gloves. All of them have been made in China so far and seem to be made so a five year old could put the decorative parts on once the business end is wired and in place. White glove service is what I strive for.
I hope everyone enjoys their holiday weekend. For those who have to work, thank you.

Just had a bowl of cereal this morning along with the coffee. Not much to do today. I might do some reloading later this afternoon.

Just coffee and an English muffin, sad news this morning, sister called and her husband had a heart attack over night, not expected to make it. She called priest in and relatives, on our way!
