Looks great to me Gene! A lot of house for the money! Personally, I think highly of Wisconsin, short of winter. Looks like a good one though. I would keep that one on the short list!

Up here in the north woods of Wisconsin, our two seasons are SNOW and NOT SNOW. Guess which one is 8 months long?

The Elders of my wife's tribe (Ogibiwe) and her father say that the lakes are freezing over later in the year and thawing earlier. About a month on each end. Still lots of snow. That is on the Lac du Flamebeau reservation in NW Wisconsin.

Gene, I have to ask. You have been looking at properties in much varied states and locals. What exactly is it you are looking for? Real curious on this.
Not being a jerk here, just curious. Thanks.

That is so right. The other issue for us up here with snow sports that the snow has been wetter and icier with the warmer temperatures. Not good for skiing and snowmobiling or snowshoeing.

Re: Home Search Continues
I’m looking to get the heck out of Dodge so to speak. Seattle has no police force. If you have a weapon they will shoot and kill you. Anything else like unarmed robbery or even grand theft auto doesn’t even get an officer to show up and take a report. Instead they will call you on the phone and tell you tough luck.
As far as where I’m going I’m open to many avenues. If I found a place in Kansas I would buy a big RV and travel. If I buy in Montana I’ll stay with the teardrop and travel mainly in state.
I have 2,450 sf on 3/4 acre and don’t think it’s too big. I want a big house with a garage and small shop. A 40’ x 60’ building is too big. Most places are small house and big shop. I want just the opposite.
I also need sunshine and be near people but not too many people. I want big windows and neighbors 200 yards away not 20. The density here is around 1,000 people a square mile and that is mile after mile. I’ve found places in Montana just as dense yet it’s only a half a square.
I have depression and can not isolate myself. I need to leave the house everyday. Usually it’s to Mercury Coffee where I can interact with another human in person. It makes me shower, comb my hair and brush my teeth.
As I write this I’m in a campground in Capitan, NM. Earlier in the day I talked for an hour with a neighbor camper. I can be nice to anyone for an hour. Making a ton of new friends is not in my plans. That woman I will most likely never see her again. With neighbors you see them again and again.
And I want to live around Republicans.

People in Montana say winters are long, spring and fall are short and summers are normal. Several people have told me spring and fall are only a month and those lost extra months are winter not summer.RanchRoper wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 11:33 amI hear ya.
