Henry 1,000 man shoot

Post by Coach » Wed Sep 07, 2016 7:44 pm

Did you guys get the email.....looks like good time.

For $650.00 you get a commemorative rifle, get to be one of the thousand to shoot and some swag to boot.

Too bad I'm nowhere near Arizona.

haven't heard anything about it but with NC being a pretty good drive from Arizona, that really doesn't matter

I was curious as to how the logistics would work bringing a rifle back to California from Arizona. I imagine they would have to ship to my FFL? Either way it looks like a good time but I will sadly miss it.

You would be correct....Send it to your FFL and then wait another 10 days to pick it up.

The Henry 1,000 Man Shoot

Post by DanAtHenry » Thu Sep 08, 2016 1:53 pm

I'm sure that most of you have already heard about this event and I see that it's already been posted here, but I wanted to share some more information for those that might be interested. Hopefully some of you are already in the area or feel like making a road trip with some buddies in November!

In short, with the help of the NRA we will have 1,000 people descend on Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, AZ on 11/14/16 to break a world record for the most shots fired simultaneously. The firing line will be over a mile and a half long! We've donated all 1,000 of the rifles that will be used to the NRA and all proceeds will benefit them. All of this is taking place just 1 week after the Presidential Election.

Participants who register for the $650 Patriot Package will get a spot on the firing line and a certificate of participation. They’ll also get to keep the Henry 1000 Man rifle they shoot, as well as a custom gun case, cap and T-shirt.

For more information or to register for the event, visit http://www.1000manshoot.nra.org, or email 1000manshoot@nrahq.org with questions.

Hope to see some of you out there!

I'm thinking about doing it. Flying wouldn't cost me anything since I have a bunch of Delta credits from their fiasco last month. I sure would like to participate and become the owner of one of those commemorative rifles!

I wouldn't put it in a display case, though – I'd shoot the heck out of it!

Yep, do it if you can. It will be a once in a lifetime experience and then you will have the commemorative rifle to remember it by.

I will be like Sir Henry, with you vicariously by shooting my Henry in Indiana.

Yeah I agree the unique rifle would be worth the trip. Hopefully someone on the forum goes so we can get pics.

Hey, Everybody.

I didn't get this posted yesterday. Late Saturday evening I hopped on to the NRA web site to check out the events, times, etc., for the November 1000-Man Shoot. I found this notice posted -- the registrations sure filled up fast, and are now closed. There is a "wait-list" in place. I would bet that if Henry (Anthony Imperato) added another 1000 donated rifles, those registrations would disappear quickly, too. Have a great day!
On November 14, 2016, at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, Ariz., history will be made. 1,000 freedom-loving Americans will join together to set a World Record by simultaneously firing 1,000 Henry Repeating Arms Golden Boy Silver rifles! That's right, one week after the 2016 Presidential Election, the NRA and Henry Repeating Arms will be setting a firearms World Record.

Due to high demand for this event, registration is currently unavailable. If you are interested in being placed on a waiting list, please email 1000ManShoot@nrahq.org with "Waiting List" in the subject title. If registration reopens, those on the waiting list will get the first opportunity to attend based on when they submitted their request.

It's not an issue of donating another 1,000 rifles. We would probably be very willing to do that in support of the NRA, but finding a place to have 2,000 people in a firing line is a whole other issue. The firing line is already 1.5 miles long, which is crazy! Upping that to 3 miles just isn't doable at any range we know of.

Hopefully we'll be able to do something special for the folks that joined the waiting list.

Hey, Dan,

My comment wasn't really a suggestion to do that. I had read that the 1000-person line was to be stretched to 1.5 miles....can't imagine that, or how it would be to manage it! I really was making more of a comment toward Anthony Imperato's great support of the shooting sports as well as the NRA. If another 1000 was a can-do, he'd probably consider it. Also the "world record" then might be permanent with the number at 2000!! ;)

Just had a crazy thought. The 1.5 mile line "could" be set up like a Civil War action. First 1000 persons fire from a kneeling position, the second 1000 persons fire from standing position directly behind them. Of course, safety of the front shooters especially is paramount. But it could be done. What a show that would be!

Anyway, my comments are just like dandelion puffs in the wind....let them fly by!!
I bet you'll be there, Dan. Have a safe and great time at the shoot!
