The Black subs are good.
Each serves a niche.
Pyrodex leaves a protective oily residue upon ignition.
... not great for flintlocks.
777 gives about 12% more pressure with same volume so load accordingly.
It also prefers 209 primers but shotshell reloading should be fine.
Personally 777 is my go-to unless a #11 primer is needed

Nice buck! Nice rifle!
I like 777 as well. Once you have your load, it's very consistent and will keep tight groups.

Just received my Pyrodex RS to load my brass 12 gauge shells for my Hammer Coach Gun. Never gone this route before, looking forward to seeing how it performs.

Yeah Randy, for the Colt. Looks like shipping is starting to catch back up. A good thing. Bullets and coating[Hi-tek] look like the Missouri ones.
Happy with that.

Not a darn thing! Maybe another day. I've got plenty loaded right now and can't load some calibers because of the primer shortage.

Made up 18 rounds of 7mm-08 Rem. Six rounds each with 3 different charges. Trying to develop a new load with IMR 4350 since I've run out of H4895 which is my go-to powder for that caliber. It's one of the Hodgdon powders made in Australia and things aren't going well there.
Using 120 grain Sierra ProHunters. My usual load shoots real purty from my Savage 110 and I'm hoping I can replicate it with the IMR 4350.

Doing the same for the .243 Win. (Long Ranger). Going to IMR 4831 from RL15. with an 85 grain Sierra GK.
Unless some of the powders I usually use find their way to shelves, I'll be working up new loads before hunting season.
Hope you guys are finding the powder you need.

NH, wish we were closer I'd swap ya a lb of 4895 for that 4350.
That's what I use in my buddies 270, and I'm all but out.

Guy at work told me he scored 2000 CCI small pistol primers for $130 at Bass Pro 30 miles away Thursday. Was going to head over but pretty sure they are gone.
