Black Powder Frontier Buffalo Hunt

Post by RanchRoper » Mon Jul 19, 2021 5:45 pm

Good day to shoot some buffalo...well, a target that was later stuck to a buffalo....

Was holding off on shooting black powder as conditions are dry but this morning was foggy and the grass was wet so I headed to the range. Only a few rounds shot but I was pleased with the results.

50 yds, off hand standing
Frontier .50 cal, double set triggers
60 gn Goex 2F powder
.490 lead ball, .015 patch

As most of you know I filed the front sight down months ago and what a difference it made. If I do my part, this rifle is deadly accurate. LOVE IT. :D

I'd say you're also deadly accurate. That is some impressive work, gun and shooter.

I like both. Triple 7 is super easy to clean up and 50 grains packs as much or more of a punch than 60 grains of Goex in my opinion.

Fire and brimstone come to mind when you use real black powder.
