Fun with the Game Cam

Post by BrokenolMarine » Fri Jul 16, 2021 1:40 pm

:D

We have live feed security cams around, and we have a few game cams in the more remote areas of the farm to act as security as well. One area we call "The interstate" gets a lot of traffic. This morning, I pulled the SD card and checked the video, and got two cute surprises. The twins were out with mom...

The bandit triplets were also out with mom and dad...

This is a busy game trail, lots of folks come thru the border here. Sometimes we see a pretty kitty.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

We have video of the yotes, roadrunner, hawk, bunnies, fox, armadillos, loads of deer, the horse, the cow... you name it. Never saw the red wolf here, no hogs or bear yet....
But everything else native to the area passes through. LOL.

Great pictures BM ! I have a camera setup at my creek facing the bridge and hope to see some of the wildlife try to cross it.

The new cams arrived yesterday, batteries today. Got them set up, date/time, chose the modes and such. Put them to work. Will pull the cards tomorrow and do a quick review. Then tweek the aim of both and leave them for several days, then do a more in depth review. I chose video mode, with sound. :)

A few pics of the new cams and their set up. I haven't pulled the cards yet, so I can't/won't comment on how they work, since I can't say, but so far I can say the set up was easy as pie. Work thru the menu, click click click. Done. Eight AA batteries in each, and an SD card... good to go. Came with an adequate length strap to mount them. The boxes with all the info.

The camera. Front and side motion detection and led flash, not visible to the human or animal eye.

Open the cam and you have the battery compartment on the right side, and the 2.4" screen and controls on the left. The menu appears on the screen, plus you can screen photos or videos right on the cam. Don't have to download first.

Set one up for barn duty. It's on a tree on the left. Look for the strap. Will watch for wildlife, or two legged predators messing with equipment.

The second was placed here in the pecan orchard. Once the 'cans start to fall, the orchard is filled with wildlife... herds of deer, foxes, and the rest. The camera also watches the far gate.

Another view of the orchard. Tina went down after these pics and clipped the field for the cow and pony.

I'll pull the cards today or tomorrow. See what we see.
