Uberti 1885 Highwall, 45 Colt. Loaded some slightly hotter ones to shoot long range, this is 7.5 grains Universal and 250 gr LRNFP.

This rifle shoots nice, but still have to push out some of the shells with a wooden dowel from the muzzle end. Annoying but it is what it is. Once I get started shooting it, I do quite like it. It has a 32" heavy barrel but I have been shooting black powder in my Frontier off hand lots so I shot this Quigley style today too. No wind, and a thunderstorm hanging around.

Anyhow here we go, 100 yds off hand....4 rounds into the target which I stuck to a larger white sheet so I could pick it out. Another 6 rounds went into the wood around it. Not great but not bad for 64 yr old eyes and open sights. This is with the original factory buckhorn on the first notch up on the slider. This thing is a dot out there.

Next, went for broke...off hand....250 yds for the rest of the box of 50 rounds. 14 rounds into the wood around the paper, and 26 on paper, most are even in the 10" circle!! This is with the tang sight up, and playing with the elevation a little. Keep in mind these are off hand and you can see them getting lower at the bottom as my arm gets tired....haha. Oh well, go big or go home...

That's some fine shooting RR. Anything is 45 Colt is a pleasure to shoot. My Marlin 1894 is chambered for that round and I just can't get enough shooting time with it.

Thks, it's the only cartridge I shoot in my guns...there is no recoil at all in the highwall.

No he didn't sell it to me, he just imported it with his shipment. I bought it myself from Dixie Gun Works. So shipping it back a year later would not be an option even if I could get it across the border. I'll have a gunsmith look at it sometime.

I’d say that with all those impacts in the 10” circle at 250 yards that accuracy is most certainly “in” the window!

Great shootin RR! What is the diameter of your .45 Colt brass when it sized in your die? My Dillon die would squeeze it down to small and it would have an "hour glass shape" to the case. A die like that might help if the case doesn't expand fully to chamber size. Trick is to reduce some of the case contact for easier extraction.
I use a Redding Dual Carbide sizing die now and they come out like new factory brass.
