we awoke to a sunny 76 degree morning with a steady 10 mph (gusting to 17 mph) wind .... its supposed to get up to 102 later today .. .. strongly suspect I'll go outside very little today .... do have a steak cookout at one of Maureen's brothers for lunch .... due to extremely dry conditions, no fireworks .... home smoked sausage with eggs and Folgers to kickoff the day .... the hope of the week is the prediction for rain on Tuesday will come true

79° and sunny here. Rain in the forecast later in the day (80%). I kind of hope the fireworks get washed out tonight as our dogs go nuts when neighbors behind us set them off every 4th and New Years even though there is an ordinance against it in the city of Sugar Land. Bacon, flapjacks, and coffee for breakfast. Got some work to do today. I have a backlog of customer repairs for the first time since the pandemic started.

Very sunny, it’s 90 degrees with a high of 102. Wind is nnw 15 mph and humidity is 39%. Not much going on, go to friends house for bbq, way too dry for fireworks. Everybody have great 4th of July!

77 this morning, bright sun, light winds. The good thing is, low humidity as it's predicted to hit 95 today.
Coffee and, well you know.
They say we might get some rain tomorrow. We really need it.
Ever since the military I've been plagued with chronic sinus infections. The VA says its from Agent Orange,
but in my opinion its from CS Gas. CS is like tear gas times 100, I was TDY in Saigon during the Buddhist
riots 65-66 staying in a Vietnamese hotel in Cholon. Cholon is the Chinese side of Saigon, kinda like two cities.
Anyway I was trapped there for three days while the anti govt riots raged outside. The police used CS gas
trying to control the crowds and it got so bad that everyone was up on the roof with we towels over our faces.
Finally the VN Army came in and ended the riots.
Well, anyway, every couple of months I get a sinus infection. It settles in slowly and the symptoms' are subtle,
so it takes a while before I know I have it again. Right now I have been on anti biotics for about a week and I'm
starting to get my strength back. It really saps the ambition out of me.

following a quiet evening (no fireworks permitted due to very dry conditions) we awoke to 77 very humid degrees .... supposed to get up to 98 with a RealFeel on 102 .... not much drought relief today, chance of rain 9% .... regular breakfast .... anticipate an early switch from black Folgers coffee to unsweet tea .... twisted my right knee on the 3rd, the cane I made earlier this year while we were in Texas is coming in handy

Bronco getting first oil change.

I was at the dealership getting some warranty work done and thought I'd have a look a the new Bronco.
To my surprise they had no new vehicles of any type in the showroom. In fact they had newer used
vehicles on display. The reason is they are sold out of new. They tried to buy my Explorer in fact.

Woke up to a wonderful 60 degrees. Hopefully we will head back to overnight lows in the 50’s like normal. 93 is the forecasted high so another hot one on tap.

Had a nice time at me wife’s cousin’s place last night. Heard a few fireworks but did not see any. Watched the local news this morning and there are about a half dozen small brush fires that required county fire attention. Looks like all have been contained and nothing is expected to explode into a large fire.

Today is final preps for our boats maiden voyage tomorrow. It is set up for dual batteries but it only came with one so yesterday I picked up a second Group 27 battery and today I’ll install it. Man, I’m getting too old to be bent over an inboard engine, particularly messing with a heavy battery. The battery that came with the boat was not in a box so I had to wrestle it into a one. That was not fun.

Man, I’m getting too old to be bent over an inboard engine, particularly messing with a heavy battery. The battery that came with the boat was not in a box so I had to wrestle it into a one. That was not fun.

I had our old boat upgraded with a new trim and tilt system, but both batteries are in need of replacement.
(I sympathize with you). I have a MinnKota trolling motor that is mounted on the transom of the 85 Johnson and
that needs a good deep cycle battery, and the engine battery is also old and weak.
Yup, I'm going to have to wrestle batteries myself. Gettr done dude.

Coffee right now and 64 degress. Headed to the Grasslands to do a little testing here in a little while. 90 degress later today. Yesterday while riding my bike I had a couple F-16's fly right over me while riding. There were from the National Guard celebrating the 4th. None the less its always a huge rush for me to see those along with the Angels and the Thunderbirds.

Late to the party this morning, pulled a muscle in my back yesterday playing like it was 1999 with the grandkids ( I can’t hardly even wiggle this morning) It’s drizzling right now and currently 81 with a high of 93, everybody have a great day! Watching the Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

Back home from going to the visitation and graveside services for my old friend and coworker. An emotional couple of days, but did see a lot of old friends and good people.
The friends whose house I stayed in sold me an old winchester model 61 he had owned since he was 17. I didn't need it but I bought it to keep to remind me of the fine old man that he was. I won't ever sell the old gun.

Good to be home. Planning a quiet week spot spraying brush about the farm..
Extra good coffee this morning. A great wished for all of you out there.

The heat wave is over, 70s the rest of the week.
Coffee and Keebler's soft chocolate chip. Pretty good.
Contractor was supposed to work on our deck this morning but he'll probably get rained out.
I'll probably work in my shop.
