Sunny and warm today in south central Pennsylvania, seems like summer wants to hang on here for a few more days, in the 90's. The heat and humidity is to build through Saturday and by Sunday, hopefully, the temperatures are to drop into the low 80's.

Weather man was wrong again. Might be the only job where you can be wrong everyday and still get a paycheck. Anyhow went for a real nice ride on Badger this morning, packed my slicker but didn't need it. Sun came out and beautiful day. Was on a high ridge along the Crowsnest River. Gorgeous views.

I've always wondered what excuse the LA weathermen gave for being broadsided by all that rain last month.

The weekend weather was most pleasant here in KCMO --- temps mostly in the 70s, and was able to turn of the A/C and open the windows!
But our weatherman's prediction was spot on. Summer heat and humidity has moved back in full-force today and predicted to hang around all week. Just checked outside temp gauge, reads 92*. Tomorrow to be lower to mid-90s. I was hoping to get to the range tomorrow with PUMP and some s/g slugs for a little long-distance shooting. But doesn't look too promising with the forecast.

Let's see, where's my calendar?......Ah, it says that "Autumn Begins September 22nd." :)

Update:

My old friend died in my former Great Lakes state where I lived with my late husband for many, many years. Her husband is taking it hard even though her death was expected since last spring. His reaction is normal. He has some family around him and a few friends.

You never 'get over' losing a loved one in my opinion. Every individual goes through their grief and back to 'normal' in their own way. Life goes on for the living.

My older sister is still in Florida. Her decision. I quit trying to understand people who ASK for advice over and over again but never take IT when it comes to personal responsibility in ALL areas of their life. Plus when you offer to help them and DO help them at different times in 60 plus years on earth... it is the same old story.

IT is what IT is as my older brother told me and he NEVER offers advice any longer to some people because they NEVER TAKE IT. My older brother was/is right.

Life goes on!

Happy note... my husband will be retiring soon.

I still have good and bad days. I still have to use my cane on some bad days. I have accepted the good and bad days because that is the only way to LIVE.

My husband is using up some of his vacation days before he retires. He went to the range on Monday. I may go shooting this week too. We plan on taking some short drives too. He plans on going gold panning with a friend of his sometime this week too. We have been busy with paperwork and some other things around town with his crazy 24/7 job too.

Take care and good shooting to all of you.

Hugs and blessings.

PS:

I think that we will get an EARLY winter from the signs that I am seeing here. My husband thinks the same thing too.

Cate, you, your friend and your family will be in my thoughts. Safe travels.

Enjoy your day everyone.
Dave,

I lost my LONG post. Update on my post from several weeks ago...

I did not go back to my former state but I did get to talk to my old friend, her husband and his son several times. She was in a hospice center and died there. There was one memorial service at their church. Nothing else. He has his family back there, her family back there and a few friends.

I did not fly or take the train to Florida. My sister has not made a final decision on what she wants. The offers were made to her if she makes up her mind one way or the other. To stay in FL, move back to MD, come out here and we can help her find a place, etc. TOO much to say.

Her health is declining but until she makes up her mind on what she chooses to do in the end... I will not go back and forth to FL. TOO much to say there so I will leave it there.

Blessings to you and your lady.

Your priorities are in perfect order, Sir Henry. We wish you the very best.
I agree with you. Thank you.

I don't know if the thank you thing is working for me or not. It took and then it has a minus heart thing on it. So I pushed it again.

I don't know if my screen is messed up or not.

The forest fire smoke was really BAD here in town and across Western Montana. We had some pretty hot days too.

It snowed in higher elevations across Montana the last couple of days.

Some places got frost too.

It cooled down and we got some rain on Monday.

Good morning, Cate. It's good to have you posting again. I've missed you.

Coffee cup is empty and another windy day is well under way. Be safe, everyone.

Good morning everyone, a lovely morning here in South Central Pa. but I could do without the heat and humidity that is to linger until Sunday. Having a cup of Java Gold dark roast from the Keurig this morning. Nothing special planned for today.Image
