Followed me right out of the store
Well, this afternoon we got off werk a little early because of the weather.
Was killing time waiting for a haircut appointment.
Stopped by the local Gander Outdoors, a place I hardly ever visit.
Not much for ammo except Shotgun shells.
Quite a few rifles, no Henrys except a single 12 ga.
Looking at the handguns, they had quite a few used ones.
Saw this guy, and it just didn't want to stay there any longer and followed me home.
45 colt 1873 by Pietta.
Didn't get a chance to try it out, as when I got home the grandson was here.
In the next day or so I will sling a little lead and let ya know what I think.

I thought of you as soon as I saw it.
Haven't decided where it will go.

Only one firearm related sticker on it now, but most don't even know what that one is.
Then the Gadsden flag tag on the front.
This one will go on the bench or the safe most likely.

Re: Followed me right out of the store
Randy, I have the exact Pietta revolver except my grips are a checkered plastic type. You're going to really like that one. Nice find.
Re: Followed me right out of the store
Good find. I try to walk faster so things can't follow me home as much as they used to.

Re: Followed me right out of the store
Not sure, I have a few different loads to choose from.
There ae some 6.5 gr Red dot loads that should work, and believe I have some 8.0 gr Unique and some 200 gr RFN.
I have some stouter loads but will save those for the Rugers and carbines.
May have time this afternoon for a little shake down.
The trigger isn't near a nice as the Rugers, but it is new and should smooth up as I use it, or at least I hope so.

That's a good looking firearm. It's going to fun to put a few rounds downrange with that. 45 Colt is one of my favorite rounds. Once you start shooting, it's hard to put down. Congrats on your find.

Re: Followed me right out of the store
It just followed you right out of the store,? Disgraceful! You'd think they'd have security for that..
Congratulations Randy. Nice gun. The box top got my attention.
Thought of Mark & Doc, immediately.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Re: Followed me right out of the store
Nice catch Randy! Does that one have the spring loaded firing pin with 3 click action? You can slick them up a bit with a spring kit and usual polishing.
200-250 gr. bullet with 8.0 Unique and that Red Dot load work very well!

Re: Followed me right out of the store
That is a beauty Sir. I try hard not to actually touch a handgun that looks way too nice in the case. They tend to follow me home. I own at least seven guns that would have been sold to someone else if I hadn’t succumbed to the siren call of the seductress of gunpowder and lead. Love my Uberti six shooter and have no doubt that you will enjoy your new seductress.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday.

Re: Followed me right out of the store
Ok, I'm to try this one more time, dang internet has been iffy the past 2 days.
Yes Forty it does have the 3 clicks, I plan on putting some rounds down range before I attempt in mods.
Hard to get away from these two grandsons at the moment though.
Good one Seabee, and I totally agree, but the counter gut and myself were talking ammo.
While doing so I was kinda glancing back and forth and the case coloring got my attention.
Then... made the mistake of asking to fondle it.
And the rest is history, I'll try and sneak out one day this week and give it a spin.
