When I was a youngster and we castrated piglets the one doing the work would flip the testicles in the air and one of the dogs would get it before it hit the ground. The dogs loved them. They must be good. I'll probably never know.

On the other hand folks those days ate most every part of the animal. Fried brains are pretty good. Never was too fond of kidney or heart though, too chewy. Liver done right is really good especially if it's fresh.
Then there's pickled pig knuckles, head cheese, ect.
I used to get chicken livers either free or very cheap and sautéed them in garlic butter. Yum.

Folks these days are spoiled.

You're right, didn't waste anything. My Pa used to say, they eat everything but the squeal, and made whistles out of that, LOL.

Made some brat burgers on the griddle tonight. Nothing fancy just removed the meat from the brat and formed it into a patty. Cooked on the flattop they were great.

Tonight was keep it simple night. We made some Chinese egg rolls and had some store bought steamed Chinese dumplings. We buy the dumplings from Costco and they cook up in the microwave in 2 minutes. The egg rolls were a recipe I found a long time ago on the internet. We buy the wrappers at Walmart. The hardest part of making egg rolls is putting the right amount of filling into the wrapper and then rolling them. Everything came out great.

Carol made a Linguine with chopped lobster and mussels. It also had sautéed peppers and onions.
Accompanied by a good Lager.

I know well what Rocky mountain oysters are. I'll pass. Lots of folks love 'em.

Tried once, that I know of, tastes like chicken gizzards. Then, lots of things taste like chicken: frog legs, rabbit, hog intestine (kind of chewy though). But, I just stick with chicken for now. In fact, had chicken wings, fries and Yuenglings for dinner, at least I was told they were chicken wings.

Had a pretty good chicken salad over lettuce last night, but to make up for that Carol has
two Angus steaks ready for tonight. Looking good.
Of course with a good Lager.
We will do a local brunch after church which is really good.
