New wheels

Post by RanchRoper » Wed May 26, 2021 6:15 pm

My F350 bit the dust. Engine calved. Toast.

Wife’s old F350 will be the horse hauling truck from now on.

Pick up new wheels this weekend. 2021 Bronco.

RR, what engine did you get? I'm waiting on the Bronco[full size?] that isn't out yet. Thinking 2.3 or 2.7 liter with auto trans. Just need to see and drive one. Looks nice tho.

That's a nice one RR! I remember the originals as light weight short wheelbase 2 door with the 289 V8 as optional.

I would also like to see the full sized Bronco. I still have the one I purchased new in 1983. It has a snow plow on it now.
It was a really nice vehicle when I got it new. Pretty well rusted out now. Too much Minnesoota salt.😢

They're a good looking vehicle, Coop. Wouldn't mind having one myself. I had a 78 XLT, put a Detroit Locker in back. Detroit TruTrac in front. It was a beast, but 10 to 12 mph, LOL.
I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Don’t laugh...a little turbo charged 3 banger that goes like a bat out hell. 28 mpg, 4x4, multi traction modes, tons of room. 18” wheels too. This is the new runabout for the RR family. We were looking at starting to downsize anyway next few years. Don’t haul horses around like I used to. Big trailer is next list to downsize.

Bigger one comes this summer; competes with Jeep Wrangler. This one suits us and I do my off-roading on horseback anyway. Lots of cargo room for my long rifle....

Over 350k miles. But it was a 6.4 and they were sketchy. Lasted longer than some. I'm no mechanic but lost compression, required either complete overhaul or replacement....time to move on.

I knew I was pushing it and it's days were numbered. Always a bit of a worry when hauling horses. It ran great but the reputation was always there in back of mind. Oh well, that's life. Did not plan on buying a new anything this week but we drove that little Bronco and man it's a nice stiff truck ride, and real punchy. More gizmos on it than I'll ever figure out.
