Backyard visitors

Post by Hatchdog » Sat May 22, 2021 10:06 am

Had a very pregnant cow moose stop by for a drink this week. Offered her a gin and tonic but she just wanted water. Lots of strutting Toms about too.

Fun! We don't get moose in our area. A biologist told me that an area that has lots of deer won't have many moose because moose can't handle all the diseases and parasites that deer carry. We do have lots of turkey, though.

Neat pictures Hatch. Let mama moose drink. You don't want to get them upset. At all!

Sweet. Yup, don't want to upset her. I have seen THOSE videos. Not pretty.
We too have visitors. Yotes.. See that post. But we have loads of deer, skunk, fox, possum, coon, dillas, roadrunners, owls, hawks, and once... A red wolf.

Tina saw tracks for a piggy... We hope we don't have to deal with those, but if the word gets out about the pecan orchard, I might end up with a feral pig problem.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Hatch, that pregnant moose probably don't need to be consuming alcohol anyway.
I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.
