2021 Trip To South Dakota

we are camped at the NC State Fairgrounds with our camping club .... we grilled steaks with all the trimmings so this outing is off to a really good start .... with this being our last outing prior to leaving or South Dakota we hope to test all camper systems .... the weather is really cooperating, had to run the AC's this afternoon and with it supposed to get down to the low 40's tonight, we'll kick in the heat for a while in the morning

just got all of the hardware .... she has finished the window in the toilet and plans to start on the bedroom this coming week .... once she's sure that the way she plans to make them works, the fabric for the rest of the camper will be ordered ... she hopes to have them finished before we leave, if not, she'll take her machine with us and finish them while we are in South Dakota

low key, relaxed day .... following a great breakfast, the ladies spent some time at the large flea market that is open on weekends at the State Fairgrounds .... none of them purchased anything .... our fellows consider that to be a good thing .. .. we sat under the shade and talked while watching one of the guys finish a handle on his newest sheath knife .... he really does a good job .... sent out for pizza for the evening meal

its a packing up morning at the NC State Fairgrounds .... its been a good weekend with our camping club .... all camper and truck systems appear to be ready to head for South Dakota but that could change at a moments notice .... extra time will be spent cleaning our camper's holding tanks, the next time we do so may well be in Nebraska City or Estelline, SD .... next up with the camper is a tow over to the welding shop Wednesday morning to have its carrier frame repaired

Seems to me that carrier frame suffered a set back once before didnt it

sadly, more than once .... the good news is, its never failed at the same place twice .... the truth of the matter is, we overload it and in time that leads to failure .... I'm determined to change the way we use it so that it will be very much over built and shouldn't cause any further problems

well I spoke too soon in saying all camper systems are on go .... when cleaning the tanks I spotted small leak .... I believe it to be in the tank flusher line .... most likely failed as a result to the extended cold temps for a week in March .... have to get one of our sons to come over and drop the underbelly cover to see exactly what's wrong

the trouble is, I can't get under there so we have to try and get one of our sons to take care of it .... they both work long, long hours and we hate to approach them about it ... we'll figure it out

both frigs are defrosting and we hope to get some new curtains up in the camper's bedroom & bathroom ....

both fridges defrosted .... one new curtain made and hung .... curtain work to continue later today .... plan to hookup so as to be able to pull out as quickly and easily as possible in the morning to take the camper to a welding shop to rebuild its carrier

first thing this morning we towed our camper to a welding, fabrication shop to have its broken 2" receiver frame rebuilt .... they hope to be able to finish it today, if not tomorrow .... we are really looking forward to getting it fixed and being able to mount our carrier back on the rear of our camper

OH well .... as usual, something new .... we will have to replace the camper's 7-wire plug before we can bring it home from the welding shop tomorrow .... having done it several times, doing so is a task that I ought to be able to take care of in a few minutes but usually ends up taking an half hour or so
