Since there was no mention of the prize, won't people be surprised when the winner posts photos of his brand new Henry rifle.
Site seems to be working OK.

Re: Time for our second contest
On one hand I like the odds of winning for the 4 of us who have submitted entries. But on the other hand it is a sad commentary that there are almost as many judges as entries.

If I thought that would be the prize, I would resign as a judge and post an entry!!Hack wrote:On one hand I like the odds of winning for the 4 of us who have submitted entries. But on the other hand it is a sad commentary that there are almost as many judges as entries.![]()

If the judges, administrators and owners would quit just for a chance to win a rifle, then for the sake of the forum we had better inform Mr. Imperato that it would not be a good idea for Henry to donate a rifle as a prize.

I didn't think about that. I bet we will get TWO NEW HENRY RIFLES for being judges!!Hack wrote:Now why would you do that?White Squirrel wrote:If I thought that would be the prize, I would resign as a judge and post an entry!!Hack wrote:won't people be surprised when the winner posts photos of his brand new Henry rifle. You would have no guarantee of winning the prize whereas the compensation from working as a judge is a certainty.

Don't know about that, but with all the funds rolling in from your judging duties I am sure that you will be able to purchase another Henry before the contest winners receive one as their prize.White Squirrel wrote:I bet we will get TWO NEW HENRY RIFLES for being judges!!

I haven't named this month's prize and no one really asked. We are having a contest. If only four want to enter so be it. It does make the odds better.

I'm staying a Judge. Why would I give up the guaranteed wage and benefit package I have now
It's like working for the White House, a couple days a month, read a couple things and go golfing [or whatever the H they do]
EASY MONEY
W/4 entries

I take it contest is over and Tallying up ALL the entries.
With SO many entries {4}, be aware it may take a while to pick a winner !!

Check for hanging chads. We don't need a sore loser demanding a recount.

Just kidding, but as I said during the first contest, I like swag. Hopefully we'll get a better turnout for the next contest.

Dang! I didn't think of that. I am retired so guess that I should contact my accountant to see if I have to increase my estimated tax this quarter.DWD445 wrote:You have to claim the HUGE value of your prize on your 1040Congrats !!

Re: Time for our second contest
Since no one asked what the prize(s) was for the contest, I will leave it to Hack to let everyone know what he gets. I don't think he will need to claim it on his 1040 either.

Don't forget the shipping expenses! It can't be cheap to have the prize delivered by the forum's prize patrol. The security alone must cost a small fortune. I just hope my neighbors don't think that I won the Publisher's Clearinghouse multi-million dollar prize and start coming over to borrow a cup of cash.
