I cold blued an old Savage single shot, shot gun barrel, but that was done out on the back patio.
Considering what I had to work with, I think it turned out fair.

Ok, I set the receiver in there to give an idea of what the barrel looked like before I started. Just so ya know the whole thing was rusted/locked up when I got it. It was in the flood at the river a couple years back. It belongs to a friend, he doesn't even know I have it. The buttstock was all busted also, I have one on the way. Should make for a real surprise here shortly. This is the first time I've ever tried this.

It's a nice round, no doubt. A real thumper on the receiving end.
They both reload so I sure they are setup.
Maybe someone on here may have one.
Heck I have a set for a 38-55 that I've never owned.🤔plus all the components. Maybe one day.

I know Al will be along and say I need a Henry, but I care less about all the gaudy craving on the sidegates.
Now if they made a case colored receiver with a BLUED octagon barrel with no carved up stock I might could be persuaded.
Until then I will be waiting on an older reasonably priced Marlin or Winchester.

Sure enough... I can see by the signature line we are on the same page.
Thanks for the kind words.
Won't have time tomorrow but in the next day or so I will tackle that receiver.
I'll post a pic when I'm all done, I should have taken a pic. the day I brought it home.
I soaked it in half and half, transmission fluid and diesel fuel for about a week.
