Range Report: 2300S and P1

Post by Sir Henry » Sat Apr 17, 2021 2:59 pm

I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to try the Beeman P1 on the side arcade. It only took three shots to hit this gong at 15 yards. Not bad for beginners luck.

Then I tried the 2300S and couldn’t hit it. So I switched to another target and hit it three times in a row.

I had a few missed shots too. I need to keep pellets to bullet traps but in this case the sights got lost in the dark shadows.

Ever think of adding a red dot or a scope to the 2300S? I have mine setup with a riflescope and shoot it standing, silhouette style. Wickedly accurate rig. Thinking of switching to a red dot, though, since I'm not shooting it past 20 yards.

I’m loving the sights on it. I’m on my second CO2 cylinder for the day and have been hitting the measuring cup four out of five times. My record for the day is five in a row.

Most of the missed shots are from bb’s.

The range keeps changing. The latest is the hanging gongs in front of metal trays attached to the backstop.

The sound difference is remarkable. The hanging gongs ring like a bell while the trays just goes thump. The upper right tray is hung and not bolted so it has a big gong sound.

I don’t know Gene, you might just be defacing a work of art with those pellets.

That’s an incredible looking range, I’d wager perhaps the most eclectic shooting range ever. :D

Is that a fire alarm bell in the upper left?

Eclectic isn’t that just another name for junk! 8-) Now I’m looking for an electric moving target. Maybe ducks moving across a pond. Yes that is a fire bell.

You make a good enabler Al. I sold nine today and these followed me home. The Youth is way to small for me. Even the Carbine is small like a youth. I want to get a pink one also for guests.

The electric target was okay but I want a bigger one.

Well I can tell nothing gets thrown away around there until it's given it's last gasp on your range Gene!! Excellent creativity of targets!
My grand daughters are coming to visit us next weekend and they want to shoot air rifles on my backyard range. They would really enjoy your place!!

First thing the grandkids want to do when they come for a visit is to shoot air guns at our range. We started them shooting air guns some years back.

All I know is this kid is getting lots of trigger time. I ordered a pellet dueling tree yesterday and it came this morning. I need to be packing and I’m in the backyard plinking.

That will be a fun time! I built one for my pellet rifles some years ago. Now have one for rimfire and a heavier one for larger calibers.
Found the video of the one I built for Co2 pistol/rifle use. My large one for the large caliber guns is next to it.

Yours works better than mine. I might have it tipped to far forward. I put it together, took a few shots with the 2300S and then I went back to packing.

When I get back I need to make sure it’s level.
