Bore diameter

I was at the gun show in Indy today and picked up a really nice Henry H006 Big Boy in .357 mag. I cast my own boolits and already cast for an 1873 Uberti Cattleman Birdshead revolver. I size the boolits for that gun to .357, but I need to know the bore diameter of my new Henry H006 .357/38. So if any of you cast for the .357 Big Boy I’d sure like to know what you size your boolits to. Any info will be greatly appreciated,

Don't cast for the 357, but do for my 35 Remingtons, Cast should be .358 though.
Needs to be a bit larger than jacketed so as to fill the grooves so you don't have any blow by.

My Big Boy X slugged at .357 & .358 are working well for me. Accurate, and no leading even at 1500+ fps.

Thank much for the info, I have an 1894 Marlin in 44 mag, and an 1892 Winchester( Moruku) in .45 Colt. I cast for, I size the 44 to a .433, and the .45 Colt to a .454 and that’s works great, but I wasn’t sure what size bore the Henry .357 has, and who better to ask than you guys? Thanks, when I first got the Marlin I bought some cast boolits for a local dealer that were .429, and they leaded up my barrel something fierce. It took a long time and lots of work to get that lead out, and I didn’t want to repete the same mistake with the Henry, so again thanks much, I really appreciate the info.

I am with Big Al and JEBar who introduced me to Missouri Bullets a couple of years ago. I just ordered another 500 of the 180 grain striker pug nose today. Don't cast myself.
You will love the Big Boy in 357, I shoot both it and the 45 Colt and love them both.

as I'm sure you know, one important factor is velocity .... if you hot load cast bullets, it seems to invite lead buildup

Ditto on what's already been said for the Missouri .358 bullet. I feed those to both my Big Boy Steel and my Rossi R92. No lead in either and very accurate.

I was told many yrs ago size your boolits 1-2 thousands over bore diameter, and keep the velocity under 1100 fps and all will be well, over that speed use a gas check.I’m nowhere near that speed,I cast my boolits using the Lyman #2 alloy, I don’t hunt or shoot competition, I just love to kill the steel plates set up at the end of my property. I like trail boss a lot, with the 44 mag 6 grns will get me about 950 fps, and with the 45 Colt, 5.7 grns gets me about 850 fps, and no leading at all in those rifles, they’re pleasant to shoot, and they don’t beat me or the guns up, and the accuracy is plenty good enough to kill those plates at 75 yards. But thanks again for all the good info, especially letting me know the .358 bore diameter, I greatly appriciate it.

FYI, we have been talking about Missouri Bullets quite a bit on different threads. Ship time is around 12 to 16 weeks.

HOWEVER: I made an order yesterday for 180 grain .357 Striker Pugnose bulletts and was just notified THEY SHIPPED TODAY !

I still have two pending orders made a couple of months ago for my 45/70 and 9mm, but the PUGNOSE shipped in a day.

Agree with what above posters say about those Missouri bullets. They work! Enjoy that new Henry.
