To state the obvious, why would a government want to take its law abiding citizens firearms?
They have plans for us that we're not going to like and they don't want us fighting back.

Yep. That is what's obvious.

Yes, something is not right. And, it may not be pretty.

Went to Walmart last night, found some slugs for the shot gun. Better half got 6 out of 10. Left some for someone else!
The shelf was really bare! They were putting bbs for the slingshots in the ammo shelf!
I never take myself seriously....

yesterday we stopped by our local Cabela's to look at camping chairs .... while there I decided to look at ammo and reloading supplies .... NO ammo .... next to no reloading supplies .... NO primers .... NO powder ... a few small bags of new cases .... a half dozen boxes of bullets .... the salesman said they get in some on the truck each week and put them out as sometime the following day .... he said that no matter what time they put the stuff out, its gone within minutes ..... I was surprised at the small number and variety of die sets .... they did have a pretty good display of shotguns ... a few Henry rifles (on brass receiver, one X model, a couple of 22's) .... a dozen or so handguns .... by the way, their camp chair display was all but empty as well

Another reason the BP guns have been making smoke lately. I have plenty of powder caps and I dont see me running out of sparkin rocks anytime soon. Theres plenty of flint stone around.

Unfortunately that's the scenario around here. I'll make it by the lgs tomorrow to see if they got any primers in.

Our little LGS here is stocked with lots of primers; rifle and pistol. Winchester, CCI. The hardware store in town still has Federal primers. So far so good but I'm good for quite a few years with my stock now. Caps are an issue but I have a good stock of those too now and a guy working on more for me.

REMINDER : this has been a good thread that has provided good info but it has danced around the forum's prohibition of political / inflammatory commentary ..... so that we can keep this thread going, the dance has to end here

Not in Illinois, local stores are out of 22's , on line sales not much better. I will not pay 25 bucks for 50 rounds!

Talk about ammunition shortages, I visited a rifle dealer I buy from, haven’t seen him in a year due to Covid, and I have never seen such barren shelves. He said he has $500,000.00 in standing orders for inventory and has received about $20,000.00 of it!

Visited one of the few gun shops around that sells reloading supplies, as I was in the area. It's an hour drive, but was over there with a friend so we stopped in.
Very little ammo, no primers, quite a few bullets, and a little bit of powder. I did pickup a lb of 3031, works well in the 30-30's and the 35 Remington's.
A fair amount of firearms, but nothing like the old normal.

Primers are still in abundance across Canada looks like. I’m at the point where I just don’t need anymore of them. Percussion caps is a different story. None but I have lots. Some shops say no ETA or late 2022 maybe.

Maybe take a picture of a shelf full of primers in a store. Forgot what that was like! :o

My hardware store in town still has a box of 1000 Federal large pistol primers, plus a bunch of 100 box sets. I cleaned out all the CCI ones, and some Federal as well a couple months ago. Reloading only 1 caliber I have years of primers now.

Surprisingly the LGS had some popular calibers in stock yesterday. They were limiting one box per customer. No primers though.

Yep - central Illinois has NOTHING. Certainly no 30-30!
I just bought my 009X Friday - though the ATF folks don’t want to approve it!!!! Grrrrr.
Doesn’t matter when I can eventually pick up my rifle - there is nothing to feed it:(

Boy - those folks at ATF are a real piece of work!!!!

geezerjohn - with no gun, and no ammo:(

geezerjohn, without getting political, why doesn't ATF want to approve?
