Wow that was one huge beast of a hog! .45-70 lead as a starting point or just move right to the mini gun!
RPG would be my choice. They grow 'em pretty big in the delta. And they're armed and armored. Also fast, smart, and mean as hell.

I won't post the link but if you're not squeamish go to youtube and search for "A Banquet For Boars | Hannibal (2001)"
They say attacks on humans are pretty rare but no doubt a hungry feral hog would eat a helpless human.

It's not quite as bad as Hollywood makes out. They won't hunt you down, but they will attack if they
feel threatened, or in the case of sow she will attack if she thinks her litter is threatened. Trouble is that you won't know if they perceive you as a threat until they charge you. Most other animals will give you some indication they are going to attack - pigs don't.

MSU (Mississippi State University) is another resource available for help in MS. Most other States that are currently having a wild hog problem will have similar resources available. The trouble is that it's quickly becoming a National problem and that means it has to be a National (or even Continental ) response. States that don't take it seriously now, need to get on board.

I'm ready if they show up here. We don't have much for them to mess with, but I'll protect what we do have. The seller told the wife he had hogs crossing the property when she asked, thinking I WANTED there to be, so I picked up a 308 prior to coming up here, then... no hogs. But, I'll hang on to it as they are moving north. Trouble is, before I could test the thing and see which ammo it liked best. NO ammo. LOL. I have a few 20 round boxes of various brands I planned to test, so it's not like I can't shoot it if they show. Worst case, slugs. I have shotguns and lots of slugs.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

12 ga. slug should work fine on most things!

The regular Foster slug may not do it on a big hog, depending on where you hit it. Lots of heavy bone, and it will likely pancake, so not much penetration. I'd recommend Brenneke Green Lightning for penetration thru bone - or anything else that gets in the way.

If you're not familiar with it, here's the site:
https://www.brennekeusa.com/
And some info on hog anatomy, which is considerably different than deer.
https://huntingheart.com/anatomy-of-wil ... Zone_Areas
A hog’s heart is located at the very bottom of the pig’s chest. It lies right behind or through the front leg when you are standing on the broadside.
The shoulder blade and muscle do cover over 85% of the heart. A projectile has to pass through the skin, muscle, shoulder plate and front leg partly, layer of fat around ribs that may be calcified, the ribs, and internal soft tissue before getting to the heart. All these deteriorate the bullet/ arrow energy, but it will still be adequate to damage the heart and even emerge on the other side. To drop the hog instantly, aim at the lower shoulder area at the lowest point of the chest when shooting from the broadside. When quartering to or away, place the shot between the shoulders.
