Range Report: Red Ryder at 15 feet
I’ve never shot at paper before with the BB gun so didn’t really know what to expect. My goal was to see the accuracy at 15 feet and specifically whether it could do an inch and a half.
I think I heard mom yelling at me not to shoot that thing in here. BB’s were ricocheting everywhere. I wish I had lined the tape up better. My 10 shot group was right at 1.5”. The one larger hole at the dot edge at 1 o’clock was where it wanted to shoot. Some of the others I pulled. This is a .75” shooter at 15 feet without shooters error. In a lot of lighting conditions I can see the bb fly. It comes out straight and curves up and to the right. Kind of like a baseball where most of the curve happens close to the plate.

Actually, that's not bad, considering it's a BB gun. Better than I thought it would do. I know that Daisy makes a 499B, which is actually used in BB target competition at 5 yards, so, obviously, BB guns can be accurate.

This is where I usually shoot the bb’s. It’s 15 yards from the edge to the target but with the chair and stuff in the way I often shoot at 16 and call it 15. This can be hit every time from 15 yards. These are the hard ones to hit. The measuring cups are about four to two inches across and the spoons at the other end are even smaller.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 5:37 pmActually, that's not bad, considering it's a BB gun. Does look like fun.

You'll shoot your eye out. What fun.

I think that was my mother's concern as well. After a year or two, I could not find my BB guns. I guess mothers know best?
P.S. We did shoot one through one of the neighborhood kids' foot. It was an experiment, to see if the BB would penetrate the shoe. It did. And, I did almost get shoot in the eye, while playing cowboys and Indians.
Actions speak louder than words (Matthew 7:16-20).

Gene, that's a classic. Daisy has been selling them forever.
