This is our now deceased cat KittyB. In 2005 we had a horse at a local trainers and they had some feral kittens on hand. His wife talked my wife into taking them home (a boy and a girl) so decided to have them as barn cats. We locked them up in the tack room for a week or so and then let them out to get used to the area. They were pretty friendly and loved out dog and would actually attempt to nurse from his belly. We were able to put them in a carrier and take them to the vet for shots and right after we spent the money for neutering and spading the male got hit by a car and died. We didn’t even name them as we expected them to not last long due to coyotes and hawks in the area.
Fast forward a couple of years and while the remaining female was friendly she was strictly an outdoor cat. I decided to put a dog door in our back door for the dog and yep, the cat figured out how to use it and decided she would spend some of her time indoors with the rest of us. She never peed in the house and was very well behaved while indoors. But every night we would put her out and put the cover on the dog door.
In 2016 we moved into the house we are in now and by now KittyB was the perfect house companion and was welcome in the house durning the day. We still put her out at night unless it was very cold then she could stay in. If she needed to pee she would walk to the back slider and sit in front of it until let out. She never left the general area of the house and did a great job of keeping the mice in check. One day my wife, dog and I went for a walk into the trees behind our house and the cat followed along. But once we were nearly out of sight of the house she starting meowing and wouldn’t go any farther. We felt it was because she didn’t want to lose sight of the house.
In the summer of 2018 she was outside as usual and I heard her do a loud scream but just one. I didn’t think much of it as a tomcat from down the road would occasionally stop by and they would get into it with lots of screaming. The next morning she didn’t show up and my wife got very concerned. We looked all over for her and didn’t find her. Later my neighbor called me and said there was a number of Ravens making a bunch of racket at the end of his driveway. I walked over there and found her remains. We believe she was taken by an owl that had been hanging around. She is now buried along with our two Golden Retrievers (who were cremated) in a nice area just off our backyard.
I don’t have many pictures of her but here’s one of her in the backyard. Note the concrete strip she is sitting on. She would use this strip to walk on and we joked it was the “KittyB highway”. Next pic is one my wife took at our last place. Hard to tell but there’s deep snow around and she hated snow and rain. She hated to get her paws wet. My wife used a filter with this pic so the detail isn’t very sharp but she’s sitting on the top of a 4x4 fence post staying out of the snow. This picture is hanging in our master bath and I’m toasting her with a gin and tonic shortly after we lost her.
I’m not a cat person but that was possible the best cat that ever existed and would have her back in a heartbeat.

Yesterday I took a picture of our pet cemetery area. It’s still wearing it’s winter crud but when cleaned up and the plants blooming it’s very attractive.

. He is a 15 lb Ragdoll about 7 years old. 
thanks for posting. Cats can be very entertaining, as you know. They have to know everything and check everything out! Usually, things meet their approval though.
