That's what happened to me last year. I redeemed 41K in paper savings bonds to pay for dental implants and the bank couldn't deduct federal or state taxes, so that year I owed the IRS $1265, then I got a $1200 stimulus check. Wash.

Haven’t checked yet today but as of last night NADA....

Heard on the news that the scheduled disbursement date is March 17th which explains why some show “pending 3/17”. My bank doesn’t show pending transaction so I have not got that message.

We haven't got our checks yet but we committed the money already to a young single mother who
desperately needs a newer car. We've been helping her for a long time now. Then I'm going to
take her current vehicle and get it repaired for someone else I know that needs a vehicle.
Win, win.

We told her last night on the phone and she cried.

In Dec 2018 I had to remove 22 year old implants that were failing. The Oral Surgeon filled the holes with bone grafting material, which needed several months to bond. During that time, I was basically on a liquid diet. In August 2019 I had six new titanium implants and a temporary fixed upper denture installed. For several months afterwards, I was limited to eating soft foods while the implants healed. I finally had the permanent fixed denture installed in Feb. 2019. It's made of Zerconia and should last for the rest of my life.

So far, so good. It looks and feels like natural teeth and I had no trouble adjusting to it. The best part is I can finally eat normally. The whole process was expensive, but I'm glad I spent the money.

How about you?

Not wanting to get political but that article makes for a good argument to bring back the death penalty. I don't understand how anyone can do something like that.

The death penalty is only effective if you actually carry it out in a timely manner.

I was supposed to begin the process a year ago, but Covid got in the way, so in June I had the surgery to remove my teeth
and have the implants installed. I woke up with teeth temporarily in my mouth but it took six months for my jaws to reform
during which time the plates had to be adjusted almost weekly. That time is up now and I can eat almost anything I want.
I never ever really felt much pain during the process. In fact I only took Tylenol.
In fact I can eat more now that I could with my worn out teeth.
I have implants on the bottom only. The plates snap onto them with a click and hold them tight.
The uppers have plenty of suction on their own and in fact are rather hard to break free to get them out.
It's been an interesting six months, but I am very glad I did it. I didn't have a tooth ache or anything like that,
my teeth were just worn out leaving gaps between where food lodged and that got painful.
Luckily my wife signed us up for dental insurance through Medicare that paid 75% if the cost much to my surprise.
I thought that insurance was a joke. Not any more. :o

I remember a Science Fiction novel (I believe it was one by Heinlein) about an alternate universe. If you were sentenced to the death penalty the judge would say "Take this guy out back and shoot him"
