Backyard plinking with Walther Co2 Lever rifle......

Post by fortyshooter » Sun Mar 14, 2021 7:58 pm

Got a chance this afternoon to try out the twin 12g. Co2 adapter for my Walther .177 pellet rifle. Normally you have to use the large 88 -90g tanks that slide into butt stock but this adapter lets you save a bit of money if you want to shoot maybe less than 100 rounds without wasting Co2.

So got everything setup with some cans to plink at and a target to see how well the Walther would shoot from 20 yds. Tried to get some pellet speeds with the Magneto Speed unit but it would not pick up the pellet after several adjustments. It usually shoots in the 550- 600 FPS range with the 88 g tank.

However the target today showed accuracy was still good with the new Co2 setup. Think I got around 70 rounds out of it before the gas was gone so was impressed with how it worked. Rifle been sittin in the corner for a long time and was great to get it out again.
Note... the barrel band I loosened and slid down so as to mount the Magneto Speed unit on barrel.

So off to the Shootin' Shack for some backyard fun! https://youtu.be/5sOkbyNpM2M

Target in first picture show top red dot which was first shot group and at the bottom of target red dot was the 2nd shot group. Shots in center were from another day with Co2 pistol.

That was interesting Forty, thanks for posting. I had never seen anyone operate a Co2 gun before, I'm impressed. Nice storage box too.

Yes...I got it about a month ago and the weather getting warm enough to try it out now. Seemed to work fine with no leaks.
Shot more rounds to finish off the Co2 later in the evening. Fun just to pop cans around!

Glad you enjoyed a little bit of Co2 air gunning! Sometimes it's just fun to pop some cans in the backyard.

Great video, forty. Thank you so much. It does a better job of explaining what CO2 air gun shooting with reporductions in the backyard is all about than my attempts to describe it with my posts. Just buy a CO2 reproduction of your favorite kind of gun and head to the yard for some shooting. Fun, fun, fun.

Love that parts box you built, by the way. very professional.

Hey, Al, don't be afraid of 177. Actually easier to find pellets in 177 and cheaper, too.

Great video. I see you shoot in a neighborhood also. I was looking at that rifle but bought the Legend instead. That is one fine box you made.

Not at all scared of the 177 pellets. I just want to keep things simple I guess since I already have so many 22 pellets.
