Went to get a haircut but...

Post by brm4450 » Wed Mar 10, 2021 4:44 pm

Went to town to get a haircut, stopped at LGS and found this:

0EE2F6F3-ADC3-43A9-8069-60894B50111D.jpeg
H001v Varmint Express .17 HMR
Got it for less than MRSP plus they threw in 150 rounds 17 gr. ammo.
Now just have to explain it to missus why this was a great deal!

p.s. I did get a hair cut

How could a person say no to a Varmint Express!

Explain to the Missus? I think that I have given up on that. Sometimes, "I bought it for you to use" seems to work. Lately, I just don't concern myself with it. You only live here once. Might as well enjoy yourself!

Congrats. Rifle and ammo, can't go wrong. Do like the .17 HMR.

"Beaver...wait till your Father finds out what you spent your haircut money on!" Did Wally offer to cut it for you? I bet ol' Larry talked you into it!

That sounds like a great deal in this time of guns and ammo shortages!

For the last year my wife’s been cutting my few remaining hairs. I like to think of it as “barber with benefits”.

I will do some research but I’m wondering about that new Henry you bought. I have wanted a 17 cal rifle for no justifiable reason and really don’t know anything about the caliber. Are the bullets pointed and if so does the Henry have a tube magazine?. Just a quick question here and I will so more looking and learning for myself. Not only a great looking rifle but a real nice setting with the background items. Nicely done.

Hatch I've also thought one, but the 22 mag is a better choice for me as I have a Marlin 25 MN,
and of course a few revolvers with mag cylinders.
Plus another caliber of ammo to search for.
But 4 yrs. ago in that last shortage, 17's were still easier to find than 22 lr/mags.
Different this time as there is literally nothin readily available. :o

As to the ammo a lot that I looked were pointed but but have the plastic tips.

Necked down .22 mag, most of mine have a polymer tip. I do have Hollow point and FMJ, bought those a long time ago.
