Our Morning Coffee and Weather

21 heading to 48 with sunny skies in the forecast. Still enjoying my fireside coffee while continuing my outdoor burning project. Probably three more days to finish. Great to be outside without a snow shovel in my hands.

68 on its way to 78 later today on the banks of Lake Conroe .... rain supposed to move through after lunch .... watching "Guns of Diablo" made in 1964 staring Charles Bronson and a very young Kurt Russell .... regular breakfast of eggs, sausage, sliced tomato and Folgers .... happily switched back from wearing jeans to shorts

63° this morning on the dog walk. Headed towards 80°. Thinking about a trip on the Harley since the weather is getting nicer. Maybe a trip to Tucson to seem my good friend Dennis and my niece. It would be nice to take about two to three weeks just roaming around.

37 here this am headed to upper 50's gonna cool off here at weeks end. I expected to see the cooler temps from where we were but I see the weather forecast for home and we maybe here for 2 weeks. Its not looking any too promising for a ride home.

After our recent trip to the Black Hills area of South Dakota my wife wanted to move there. I suggested she wouldn’t like the winters there and after reading your weather comments this season I’ll have to remind her that once again I AM RIGHT.

Actually I've always watched the weather in Rapid City, SD. and you might like it. In Winter they have the Chinook Winds that compress over the mountains and as they descend release warm air. Rapid City is always a lot warmer than the rest of the state.

37 here this am heaed to upper 50's gonna cool off here at weeks end. I expected to see the cooler temps from where we were but I see the weather forecast for home and we maybe here for 2 weeks. Its not looking any too promising for a ride home.

My neighbor is down in very Southern California with his motorhome, jeep and motorcycle. He texted me yesterday and told me they are planning on staying there for an additional two weeks. Can’t say as I blame him. This is the picture he sent me.

43 and cloudy with light rain this morning. After the last month, we'll take it gladly.
Folgers and Granola. Got a new Garmin 780 that I'm setting up here in my cave.
Probably work in the shop today. My Cherry veneer plywood finally showed up yesterday
after a two month delay, and I'm anxious to finish building the cabinet with it. It goes
into our motor home.

In our mid 60’s we really should be looking at a warmer climate but politically I much prefer the northern states not named Washington.

I get the not Washington thing Hatch and the Black Hills are nice but that place you and the wife have up North by the border aint bad.

I grew around Hill City SD and I agree it was the warmest part of the state during the winter. But we got a lot of snow, I remember Friday the 13th in June and we got 10 inches of snow, a few Memorial Days with snow and. Mother’s Day we got 20 inches of snow and few October blizzards. Temps could be mild in winter and I think be a great place to retire if you have a snow blower.

Just had mine serviced last week, and had new clutches installed.
All she needs is a good bath, and I'm set, she might get one tomorrow.
Then gotta get a little more strength back in this leg and I'll be ready for some WIND Therapy.

32 this morning with windy sunshine. Going for a high near fifty.
Granola and Folgers being consumed.
Heavy rain yesterday revealed my grass from all the snow. No need to mow yet.
Guess I'll work in the shop today.

Gene, I wish I needed to mow my lawn because then it would be warm. These overnight temps will keep it dormant. Come on spring!

Taking the day off from burning to get some other projects completed, boring stuff like paying bills and getting the oil changed in my wife’s car.

You’re correct Al, overall here in Eastern Washington State it’s a very nice climate to live in. We have no extremes here, winters are not too cold or excessively snowy and summers are mostly pleasant without extreme heat and very little humidity all year. I would like to live in a different political climate and would only have to move 30 miles to accomplish that. Unfortunately for us, we built the place we are in just five years ago and while our value has increased proportionately the type of properties I would be interested in are sky high and the availability is very limited. The competition with out of area buyers is ridiculous. A year ago, no problem.

I would love to take a look at Arizona or Texas but not right now for the reason that is on the news hourly. I liked Scottsdale AZ due to it’s four season climate but much less so than here at home. Housing prices there are also skyrocketing due to migration from west coastal states. Oh well, like Dorothy says, “there’s no place like home”.

Great sales pitch to potential retirees, “great place to retire if you have a snow blower”. That’s an instant classic, love it!

Yep, I could do fine in the Hill City area. I have a nice line-up of snow management equipment. In all seriousness however I will start watching the Hill City area. We were absolutely floored with the beauty of the area and the people we ran across were great. I’m wondering if it’s somewhat off the radar of the big city migration we are seeing in our area. Love your Governor!

Everybody has a place they consider the most beautiful area and mine happens to be the Black Hills. I have relatives all over the US. Jacksonville FL, Seattle, Colorado Springs, Richmond KY, OK City and more and I’ve been to those areas and saw great places but Hill City well still the best!

P.S. second choice is the Taos NM areas
