Couldn't wait any longer

Post by bandit1250 » Mon Mar 08, 2021 7:49 pm

I just had to get out to shoot today even though the wind was fairly strong and the temp was in the low 40's. I took the Remington 540XR that I just put the EGW scope base on with the fixed 12X Leupold that was on it before I had it D&T for the base. I had the Browning Buck Mark and my Ruger MK III along also. After shooting both hand guns it didn't take long for me to see the Ruger is the better hand gun for me. The Buck Marks was not as reliable as the Ruger or not nearly as accurate. It will get a few more trips to the range and then it may get a one way ride out of here. The Ruger MKIII Hunter will stay along with my wife's Slab side MKII Competition. So with the swirling winds at 50 yds the Remington had two groups out of maybe a dozen that went slightly over 5/8" but that was picking my shots with a lower wind pause. Big difference shooting the rifle after shooting the hand guns. Both hand guns with a little over 3 lb triggers and the Remington is 7 ounces. Maybe shoot some more this week with the temps getting very near 70* Take care and get out to shoot as the weather gets better.
