You Know You are OLD and Retired When...

Post by BrokenolMarine » Fri Mar 05, 2021 10:24 am

You find you measure the passage of time by your need to refill your Dayminder pill tray....

.... and the fact that you take enough pills each day to need one. :?

That’s smart Coop. For me it seems like I just fill mine up and it’s time to do it again. Where in the hell does a week go?

Excuse me, I gotta run. Time to go outside and yell “get off my lawn”.

During our last really cold snap I put out bird seed and corn for the turkeys and birds. Well, the deer
found out about the free lunch and I had several every day. Then it warmed up and I quit. I figured the
critters could now scratch through the leaves again and get by.
They did, except this one buck deer that stood in my yard and stared in the front window waiting for the freebees.
Get outa my yard you freeloader.

It also reminds me what day of the week it is.

"Did you take your morning meds Grumpy?"

" Ah, what day of the week is it. "

"Wednesday." Under her breath, she mumbles , "You old goat." She loves me so much. ;)

I check the dayminder on my side table and quickly down the morning's pills with a gulp of coffee. "Yup, took them with the morning coffee."

It wasn't a real lie. My nose only grew a half inch. 8-)

What I hate about the pill reminder the most is that it is a tattletale. I go to take my meds only to discover I forgot to last night. I miss the days when ignorance was bliss.

Same here, seems like the week flies by with these things. I've been doing it for decades.

Well my wife has one that she loads up every 7 days. Mine is a 24 day unit that might last 12 days or 24 and usually find them on sale at the grocery store. Only downside is you must keep it very chilled! :D

I first noticed I was getting older when the clerks at checkout starting calling me "sir".

You know you are old and retired when:

I first thought of myself as old, when I quit admiring pretty young things around town... no matter how hawt they were. I just began to find their constant chatter as annoying as the clucking of the hens in miss Ts chicken coop. :o

Omg
Like really
You know
And then she said...

I really knew I was old when my Daughter rolled HER eyes when I took her to lunch and said.... "Geez, do they ever shut up."

When you hear someone talking about old folks and then realize they're talking about you.
