Shipping times

Post by ol'pole » Thu Feb 18, 2021 4:52 pm

Put an order in with Midway for a Marbles fiber optic front sight, got a notice that it was shipped and should arrive by 3/4/21, three weeks to travel what google maps says is less than an 11 hour drive. Who knows maybe my order will go to Hawaii before it gets to Michigan. We shall see :?: :?:

Ordered a front sight from Dixie Gun Works. They are 4 weeks behind processing orders. Add that to the snail mail and could be awhile.

On the other hand last Friday after hours I ordered a powder dispenser from Natchez Shooting Supply and their website stated it was taking three days to process orders. However, first thing Monday morning I received a shipping notice with expected delivery today, Friday. Now this is Fed eX not USPS so probably not too revelent to the conversation. But I am very impressed with Natchez so far, this is my first order with them. Not sure where they are located, I took a look at the website but I couldn’t find any location information.

Ordered a sling from Brass Stacker on 2-5, and their website says they are 3 weeks out on processing. Then usps gets it so I am looking at over a month before I see it.
Really get spoiled with Amazon 2 day shipping.

Here's another one, Monday I sent a package from local PO (Detroit area) to Columbus OH, left local PO on the 15th arrived in Pittsburg PA on the 17th, arrived Cincinnati OH on the 18th, and stalled there. Package had to go thru Columbus on the way to Cincinnati ???????? What kind of idiots run the USPS?????
It takes us about 4 hours to drive from door to door

I’m amazed at the Amazon selection. I can drive all around town and see maybe two or three different string lights. Then I go to Amazon and there are dozens to choose from. Not only that but they have hundreds of accessories.

An update I just receive from Midway

Thank you for your recent order!
Inclement weather across much of the United States has caused delays in package deliveries by our shipping partners. Due to these delays, your order may take a few days longer to arrive than we originally estimated. Even if your area isn’t directly impacted, your package may be delayed along its route to you. We are very sorry for any delays you may experience and sincerely appreciate your patience.

Sincerely,

Well, all my enthusiasm about the delivery of my powder dispenser has been curbed somewhat. Apparently it’s taking the northern route, leaving Tennessee with the next stop in Wisconsin. Then to Minnesota and as of today it’s in Saltese Montana. Pretty unlikely it will be delivered today which was the updated delivery date from the original of yesterday. However, it will be well chilled when it arrives taking the route it did.

Here's a surprise, my order from Midway got here in yesterdays mail, only 4 days. Came in a padded envelope and not a box maybe that's why it didn't take long ?

Fed Ex delivered my powder dispenser Sunday evening around 5:00 pm. Didn’t know they had weekend service but the lady who delivered it told my wife that her days off were Thursday and Friday so she must work Saturday - Wednesday.

USPS delivers on Sundays now, and the vans are filled with amazon. :D
I was joking with the driver when she handed me two smile branded packages.
"Thank God for Amazon, huh? Job security. :) "
 She looked out at the snow covered road, wiped her running nose, and shook her head.
"Plenty of work. Weather Sux. "

Hey, Jack... You would have really liked her. Runny nose and all, that part time weekend gal is cute as a button and always smiling. :P

Guess I'll need to give Amazon it's due. I had a movie on order
a few days ago. Tracking said be here Mon, then Tues. Got an email today saying they were crediting my card $6.84 for being late.
Not bad.
