Re: LED vs Halogen vs Tungsten
When I remodeled my shop I spent the bucks and put in LEDs. Glad I did. Really bright.

understood .... ours were installed pretty much the same way .... our panels were large and with water pumped through them, they were heavy .... after a few years ours still worked but they did require considerable maintenancefortyshooter wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 11:18 amThey are mounted on an aluminum rack system with a good size air gap between the panels and the roof. My roof is about 10 years old and down the road when it needs replacing the panels will have to be removed. If you have enough open space without tree shade you can field mount them.

Re: LED vs Halogen vs Tungsten
I’ve converted almost all the lights to LED. The only exceptions are a few 2.5w nightlights,11w strings lights, and six 50w GU10’s. What really surprised me was how many were already LEDs. I would check a bulb only to find out I had already changed it.
The stings lights are 11w that burn at 2200k and are spaced two feet apart. I could use about seven 24 bulb 50’ strings or 168 bulbs. That’s 1848w! I need to go LED on them but the weakest LEDs are three times as bright which is far too bright.
Then I come across this. https://www.amazon.com/Brightness-Funct ... B088NC42TP
It’s perfect. I run the lights dusk to dawn year round. The sensor I had detected daylight but could not dim. Now I can run LEDs all around and dim them to barely on and not be seen from outer space.
