Got an email today from the regional health dept. for me to pick a time slot for Thursday only. For some reason my wife didn't get a response and she signed up online same day I did. Of course that day is the start of a big snow/ice storm so going to reschedule it when both of us can go.
I'm in no hurry to get one but my wife is all a buzz about getting it due to her health issues. Have some extended family members catch it and we don't want it! Most healthy people get over it fine and some don't do as well or die...healthy or not. You won't know till you get it.

My 82 yr.old sister down in a very small town in Ga. lives two doors down from a house an elderly woman lived in. Last year the lady got the Covid and died from it. The house was then put up for rent. A 62 yr.old man and his wife moved in couple months later. She said he was a very healthy guy always out doing things. Well 2 months ago he and his wife got it and he died but his wife is doing okay.

We were not planning on getting the vaccination, but we both teach music, and we thought we might open our home studio again for anyone who wanted to start back up (even temporarily) with in-person lessons. Closest location with times available was 93 miles away, and we got our first vaccine (Pfizer) last Thursday. Found out then that we should have waited since we had COVID in early January. The person checking us in said we would more than likely have symptoms return. Anyway, we both thought we were coming down with COVID again. Injection site pain, shoulder/neck pain, other body part aches (knees, legs, arms, etc),and fatigue. In addition, I had a temp of 100.7 and a headache. Six days later, I am doing much better, and my wife is much better, but I think I will still take a pain reliever before bed tonight. I also just heard the past few days that perhaps we should NOT get the 2nd round since we previously had COVID and had a strong reaction to the shot. Reason being the 2nd shot would probably be too hard on our body and not worth the stress.

I usually get the flu shot every year. If the government is trying to kill me they are doing a poor job of it.

Ya know...all the symptoms of the virus are the same, as I could claim regarding my year round issues. I'm not going to freak out and assume I have Covid!
Body aches, an occasional headache, slightly high temp and so on and so on, does not mean I've got a terminal illness?
I think not and am not gonna live in fear!
As I previously said; I will continue to protect myself from all the germs out there, and wait it out a while.

As a veteran, the VA hospital in Reno called me to take my first shot. I rushed down to take it, as here in Washoe Co., the virus was running rampant, thanks to Gov. Sissylak's policies, on again off again. Close the restaurants/casinos, open them, close/open. He succumbed the economic pressures, the casino owners. Here in NV, I read that Pfizer was going to be distributed in Southern NV and Moderna in Northern NV. I was happy about that since news reports touted Moderna as being slightly more effective then Pfizer, not having to be refrigerated at such an extreme temperature, meaning it would have to be thawed out before given out and just now read that in the U.K. Pfizer was only 75% effective there. I know, I know, can't believe everything one reads. First word was the 2nd vaccine should be the same as the first, no mixing up Moderna then Pfizer or any of the others that have been approved. Finally just read that someone who had completed both shots contracted the virus anyway. Nothing is 100% effective.

Got my 2nd shot. No probs, until the next day. Arm hurt like hell, but I took an Excedrin, Ibuprofen has never worked for me...and I slept most of the day. Right before the eve and my arm still hurting, had a Micheloeb Ultra and slept the night through. Next day started feeling better and now the pain is gone.

Since the flu shot was mentioned, thought I would put in my two cents. The first three years in the service immediately after getting the flu shot, I would get the flu for about two weeks thereafter. The 4th year, I mentioned it to my doctor and he said, well don't take it, so I didn't. It has been since 1965 that I have not had a flu shot and I have not had the flu since! Mind you now, everybody is different...

I had the same experience with the flu shot, so twenty years ago I quit getting it as well.
Haven't had the flu since.

U07.1 is the code the CDC uses which is different from what the WHO uses. I highly recommend everyone stop reading the news and go direct to the CDC website and interpret it yourself.

I believe we all respect that each of us has the right to make decisions based on what we are convinced are right for us .... with me, sometimes my decisions have turned out for the best, sometimes not so much .... a few years ago I found out the hard way that catching the flu can have unexpected consequences .... 12 years ago I came down with the Flu while in South Dakota and ended up in cardiac intensive care .... I have sleep apnea and had no clue that catching the flue could cause me serious heart trouble .... I got worse over time and 4 years ago ended up in heart surgery at Duke University ..... for me taking the shot wasn't optional because since the 80's it was require by where I worked .... during all that time there the shots appear to have worked but once .... that once almost took me out .... so, as noted, I believe that no matter what choice a person makes should be totally up to them and my opinion doesn't matter

According to science (believe it or not) 8% of our DNA is from viruses that we were born with. Let’s not forget about the Polio virus. Since most of us received that vaccine our children will most likely have that dead virus as part of their DNA.

So if you never get a flu shot you might already have a lot of protection. I’m all for freedom of choice and even though I get every shot when it comes around I don’t think they should be mandatory.

I canceled my Covid19 shot scheduled for Friday. Mainly because I don’t want to be on the roads for a few days. Three flakes of snow is in the forecast and that will shut the area down.

Plus I want the J&J shot when it becomes available. I have long thought I would beat the virus if I got it and delaying getting a shot makes it available for someone that might need it more than me.

I believe that getting a flu or COVID shot should be a personal decision. For forty years I never got a flu shot even though my wife urged me to. Then finally about 6 years ago there were some health related changes in my life. Since then, every year I receive my flu shot and now the first of two COVID shots. I whole heartedly believe the what I decide is right for me may not be your choice and that's for you to decide.

Make sure you answer your cell from phone calls that come up "Private" or "Unknown". They're using call centers and they'll phone and give you a time. If you don't answer, they roll on to the next person on the list. I get my second on Friday.

I dont answer calls from phones that are unknown or private. If the call is that important, the number would not be "unknown". It dont matter since I am not taking the vaccine anyway!

BINGO it’s a personal choice. I do like hearing the why’s and not’s.

Last time I answered an unknown number it was the Captain speaking and I'd won a cruise....I knew it was him because the big foghorn blew first.
