It was 55 this am and now at 61 that will be the high for today with a stiff northern wind. Cheerios for breakfast with some blueberries

55 with light rain and 11 mph wind where we are camped near Willis, TX .... only supposed to get up to 56 today .... if so that's more than 20 degrees cooler than yesterday .... don't anticipate seeing folks wearing shorts and T-shirts jogging around the campground today .. .. regular egg and sausage breakfast with plenty of Folgers .... watching the 1939 movie "Stagecoach" that stared John Wayne

Cereal and coffee this morning. Started off about 58° and is supposed to stay about the same all day with rain off/on but light. Got a bit of repair work to do then just general goofing off!

30 heading to 40 and I’m seeing some blue skies out there.

Nothing like you guys in Alberta, Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Dakota but we are going to get a bit of cold temps next week. Fortunately we’re looking at lows in the single digits but highs up to 30 ish. This always comes with blue skies and sun so there’s that.

I’ve got a classic Mustang that I may have a buyer for so today I’m going to take it out of winter storage, put it up on the ramps and lay down on the cold concrete floor and change the oil. Was planning to wait for warmer temps but gotta do what I gotta do.

This getting old is depressing. I met my old boss at the Cracker Barrel and came home feeling
really bad for him. His Wife, Ellen suffers from dementia and in Nov. She got Covid, and then
pneumonia and another slight stroke. She had to be transported by ambulance to a hospital,
and since then they have moved her three times as the hospitals filled up. She is now in a
assisted living home costing $6000.00 a month and will never come home again.
He is starting to sell off assets to pay for it. His retirement wouldn't even pay half of it.

Carol is going to get in touch with him and make sure he understands the law and doesn't have
to lose everything.

Sad.

My 87 year old mother is showing early signs of Dimentia. Thank God that she is still able to live at home with the help from my older sister.

My Mother was first in assisted living, then nursing home. Prices are obscene. She was on Medicare & Medicaid in the nursing home. They paid the bill $5400/ month then. After she died, Medicaid took everything she had for reimbursement.
My mistake was not putting everything in my name years earlier.

Lucky for me my mom was very progressive in her ideas. She had everything in both our names. I'm sorry that you didn't get anything from her estate.

It's 53 ° here and overcast. I think it's supposed to clear up this afternoon. I haven't had breakfast yet but since there's still no kitchen I'm going to have a bowl of cereal and a banana for breakfast. Take care all.

It’s a balmy 31 here with light snow falling. The snow isn’t supposed to amount to much and for that I’m thankful.

We get out cold snap later next week but nothing like the north central parts of the US and what RR is experiencing in Alberta.

Beautiful day yesterday sunny and 46 and I spent the bulk of it outside. Felt great.

Windy and overcast as well. Not not nice. I'd say, "not kool", but it really is.
Folgers, Orio, and Honey Nut Oats. They're supposed to be good for you.
Carol has clients this morning and then we'll go out to lunch and then to Walmart
to pick up a prescription.

I know it doesn't seem right for Medicare to take possessions of a deceased relative, but
do we really want our taxes to pay for nursing homes? Think about that. Govt has never
been good running that kind of thing. Things are improving now, but think of VA hospitals
for instance.

Here's another thing, nursing home prices are so high because of govt regulations and over
sight. Not saying that is a bad thing, but it costs a lot to meet their standards.

As far as placing everything in a relatives name, there is a look back of 5 years to prevent that.

Just saying...
