Well Mark, been there done that, but no more. I finally decided that if she didn't want to
cook, I would, and I would not go to bed hungry ever again. I took charge of my life and
ate what I wanted and slept where I wanted. If she wanted to be part of my life, then fine.
Otherwise I would take care of me. That really ended the fighting, course she's been gone
a long time now, and my present wife gives me no problems like that.

BTW, she left of her own volition. That wasn't what I wanted, but it worked out just fine.
For me anyway, her, not so much.

Mark, when I met Carol she was a Liberal Feminist Minneapolis Attorney. She was a partner in a large downtown law firm.
She was scared of red necks and felt safe in the city.
First date I took her to a red neck pig roast complete with a beer truck and bon fire.
She loved it!
She is now a country gal and conservative.

Politics do not belong in a home. You each have one vote, (depending which state you're in I guess), and that's all you can do
about politics, except of course getting involved in local happenings. Carol reads all that stuff on the internet and it makes her
mad and then she wants to debate it. I politely refuse! It's just not worth fighting over something you have little control over.
Heck, most of the time we agree so why debate it anyway.
Some folks just like to argue.

After the last adventure in marriage I spent five years in college studying business and psychology. I myself had some problems
that I had to solve. PTSD was on of them. I learned a lot about myself and how to deal with others.

Arguing with someone usually only solidifies their position being politics or whatever subject.
Folks modify their beliefs and opinions over time with experience more readily than debate.

I have relatives who are on the opposite side of the spectrum than I, and we politely visit and do not touch on those
subjects we disagree on. Family is family especially on holidays.

Time goes on, people change. Things seldom stay the same for long.

Political disagreements are virtually impossible to solve in today's toxic environment. Another gun forum I belong to, had a political
thread. It has been shut down numerous times, for obvious reasons.
I'm thankful we do not have that here. It's a breath of fresh air compared to other media outlets.

I prefer lean meat. It’s one of the reasons I like venison. You really need to know how to cook it so it’s not too dry. I cook the meat on high or about 500 degrees. It sears the meat to keep the juices in.

Angus is my favorite and either sirloin or tenderloin is usually what I buy.

If I see corn fed I’ll try it.

I smoke alot of meats the the smoking also seals in the juices. Then I cook it on very high heat. I like buffalo the best.

That's why their steaks are so tender, it comes from the fat marbling in the meat and the fat also
provides flavor. Pork used to be that way until they bred these lean mean hogs of today. A pork
tenderloin used to have flavor, now you have to add it.
I grew up around cattle feed lots.

I know a place about 20 miles away that sells exotic meat. You can get almost anything there.

For our daughter's birthday a couple of weeks ago we went to a meat market in the city that sells
the really good stuff. We got four filets that were about a lb apiece. Expensive, but you could literally
cut them with a fork. Course that meat cost us a lot, but it was still cheaper than taking then out to
a fancy steak house.

I have high cholesterol, in fact it's astronomical. It's an inherited thing they tell me, so of course I thought I had to avoid fatty red meats. Well
a few years back my Doctor sent me to a specialist on the problem and he changed my medication, which helped a lot. I then said, "well I suppose
you're going to lecture me on red meat again", and said, "No, eat what you want." He is an Endocrinologist at the Mayo Clinic. It seems that was
just a myth perpetrated by the cattle industry to market grass fed beef. He told me to limit my intake of carbs like potatoes.
My numbers are way down now and I have had the stress test at the Mayo and my arteries are clear.
He took me off statin drugs and put me on an over the counter drug called CholestOff. I buy it at Walmart. I also take four fish oil
capsules a day. If you get the right kind of fish oil you get no after taste. The Doc had to prescribe them.
I'm 80 and doing pretty well.

I might have a steak once a week. Been getting these at Fred Myer, don't know if they're corn fed but they are Prime and are a lot more tender and better tasting than Choice. Pay around $7 for the 8 oz. top sirloin, the 10 oz. rib eye was on sale for $10 so I splurged on it. Used to broil my steaks but could never get them rare all the way through like at a restaurant, they would either be medium rare or still a little raw at the center. Now I pan sear both sides and then stick the pan in a 400°oven for a few minutes depending on how thick it is and it is pink all the way through just like I like it.

I may try that. I only ate half the steak and it was rare. I put the leftover in tinfoil in the fridge. Tomorrow I’ll finish cooking it in the oven.
