Looks like fun to me. When my brother was battling cancer he stayed with us while going to chemo. One day I had a big branch that had broken off and was hanging over my drive about eight feet in the air. No other way to get to it so while he watched I chopped down with a .22. It was a good six inches in diameter so it took a few rounds. He got a big kick out of that. He lost that battle.

Sorry to hear about your brother Coop.
Another idea came to mind.... I have a box of .410 shot ammo but no 410 shooter. So I cut the .410 shell down to .45 Colt case length and also trim the length of the shot cup/plunger. I do have a bag of No. 12 shot that might be big enough to take out the carpenter bee without doing much damage to other background objects.
