What is your favorite knock around gun.

When I head to my property to check on the cows and fences, I throw my SKS in the truck. I've taken many hogs with it and once a coyote. I love that I have less that $100 in cost and I shoot the steel cased Russian ammo in it. What's your knock around gun??

I have two long arms. My Chinese SKS and my Henry AR-7 survival rifle. My short arms I also have two. A Bulgarian Makarov and a Czech CZ82 pistol.

Not really a knock around but my EDC is a Springfield Armory 9mm.
When up at our mountain cabin in the summer, my knock around is my S&W 686 revolver.
Of course I love my Henrys too☺....oh, I also have a Norinco SKS.

I don’t generally do anything that makes me throw a rifle in the truck but I ALWAYS have a handgun with me. But when we travel with our trailer I always throw my home defense shotgun in the trailer and this last summer due to the unrest I added an AR-15 to the mix. Thankfully neither saw the light of day. Of course we traveled to Montana and South Dakota, not exactly the hotbed of unrest.

Most of the time it's the Rossi 357, other times its 22 mag bolt action Marlin.
The Savage I picked up back in the Summer, will probably replace the others this year.

the only firearms we own that literally make every trip we take is a Remington 11-87 12 ga and my wife's J-Frame 38 .. .. rifles vary with where we are going and what we have planned

I carry a Ruger LCRX in 38 special. But if I had to take a rifle that would be in the knock around gun class it would be my Windom 7.62x39 or my Ruger American bolt action in 300 blackout.

Savage Axis youth in 223 Rem with a Leupold Vari-X II 3-9X40. Nice and compact for in my pickup or in the scabbard on my four wheeler. Non-accu trigger model that I modified to get a 2 1/2 lb pull and made an over travel adjustment for it. Painted woods camo and looks better than the plain plastic stock from the factory. My wife thinks it is hers.

Daily carry is my LCRx in .327 Fed Mag. When we travel with the trailer I bring along my 870 home defense. For woods carry I bring my S&W Gen III M/1006 10mm. None really get “knocked around” much. My most knocked around gun is my 40+ year old Ruger M/77 30-06. That rifle has stopped more beating hearts than all my other guns combined. It’s so battle scared that I used to pity it somewhat but really it’s a great story teller. Haven’t shot it in a few years so I had better give it some love.

My EDC was my Beretta PX4 Compact, now it's my Langdon Compact Carry. Basically the same gun but with some upgrades. Sometimes carry in my kydex holster, sometimes in my leather holster. Kydex is quicker to put on, leather has more class.

Dave, have you got a Streamlight or something on that lower rail? I'm thinking of getting one for my XDS, (daily carry), but was wondering what holster I would get.
BTW, nice holsters, especially that leather one!
