What's for supper?

Last night we had pork chops on the Weber charcoal grill and Rice Krispy potatoes.

care to share the recipe ..

Sure, it’s so simple a hatchdog can do it.

Melt some butter in a bowl. Grind up some Rice Krispies in a separate bowl. Peel and halve some regular (not baker) potatoes. Roll the potato halves in the butter then in the Rice Krispies and put in a baking dish. (Spray the bottom) Pour the remaining butter and Rice Krispies over the potatoes and bake 45 - 60 min at 350. I like to bake mine until the bottom of the potato gets crispy.

For quantity perspective I used three medium sized potatoes and a half cube of butter. Probably a cup of the Rice Krispies but it seems like I always have to add more so best to over do it. You could use bakers but would have to increase the baking time. When these guys are baking they give off a fantastic aroma, probably like the roast in the crock pot you enjoyed today.

You know, they just might. Now I can’t get a picture out of my head of the little Rice Krispie guys in the oven.

Nothing picture worthy tonight but tasty just the same. Cube steaks and mashed potatoes, nothing wrong with that.

Last night we enjoyed Mrs. hatchdog’s awesome lasagna. Can’t wait for lunch as there are leftovers.

Last night we had Wild Caught White King Salmon on the grill. I smoked it for an hour before cooking it which always adds some great flavor. Had some salaaad to go with it.

Well, due to my condition Carol is getting creative. Can't have carbs or sugar, so last night she baked pork chops in Marinara sauce adding onions and green peppers. Served with a side of asparagus. Pretty darn good.

understood on low carb .... I've been on that type of diet for years .... granted, I don't stick to it as strictly as I should but it does work .... most recipes that are based on Atkins diet should be OK .... with them being meat based, I enjoy most

duly inspired by Randy's pot roast, we prepared our version today .... my wife cooked ours for something over 6 hours in a crock-pot .... the roast was bought on sale at the Willis Kroger .... mighty good eating

the chuck roast shown was on sale at the local Kroger .... fat removed and left in chunks .... onions, roast, gravy mix shown, a cup of water into crock pot set on high for 6 hours .... carrots and mushrooms about 3 hrs later .... pretty simple .... use of crock pot liner bag made cleanup very quick and easy

Actually for now this is more severe that Atkins. No carbs of any kind including gravy, for a while anyway. Just had a chef salad for lunch.
BTW JE, after going from coffee to coffee I am back with good old Folgers. I never found any I liked better.

Had to help a friend pick up a tractor he bought today. Went about 60 mile to get, load it up and then back to his property. When I got home I was greeted by the wonderful smell of a pot of chili. What a great way to end and cold damp day.

We had home made Italian beef sandwiches. Occasionally we try to duplicate what was a favorite when I lived in the Chicago area. Crock pot beef with Peperoncini and served on a hoagie roll witth hot giardiniera.

I’m finding I might be glucose intolerant. I frequently do not drink enough water. In reading the package on some Mice-X I learned it’s actually a specific wheat that tells the mouse it’s not thirsty and it goes into kidney failure.

My typical breakfast is cereal and milk.

Steak cooked on the barbie and baked potato on the menu for tomorrow.
