Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
The temperature in the backyard is 14° this morning and it will remain quite cold again today with sustained north winds and a high temperature of 27°. Brrrrr. Sausage and eggs for breakfast. First cup of tea is nearly gone.
Enjoy your day. Be careful out there.

Rain in the parched Sonoran desert; much needed, but it messes up my morning hike.
If I was at my real home, nasty cold with closed roads due to a major snowstorm.
Either way, I ain’t hiking.

Thats good Vaquero. When I started reading #6 Coop immediately came to mind. Its 70 here on the Gulf. It was warm all night never went below 64. Sun is trying to break thru the heavy clouds. Supposed to hit 72 for the high.

Went to bed last night and it was 18. Woke up this morning and it was 23. I’m liking that trend. Maybe low 30’s today with snow in the forecast for tonight. Light accumulation maybe 1-2”.
Enjoying my coffee and fire now with nothing in particular on tap for the day. Fill up the wood rack before the snow flies. Living on the edge here in Eastern Washington State. Yahoo!
Vaquero, loved the sign you posted. I need to post that on my fridge as a daily reminder of how to live my live. Thanks!

light overnight rain left a few puddles and plenty of fog around our campsite .... 66 on its way to 75 with more passing showers .... thunderstorms supposed to be around tomorrow .... smoked glazed ham, scrambled eggs with cheese and mushrooms, sliced tomatoes with Folgers on the menu .... watching Robert Mitchum and Susan Hayward in the 1953 movie White Witch Doctor

Yup, that fits.
16 this morning and we got 5 inches of snow overnight. Overcast but no wind.
Guess I'll have to plow this morning.
Garbage Omelet with sausage first.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
The morning is starting with a 16° temperature in the backyard, heading toward a high in the middle thirties under bright, sunny, CT skies.
The first cup of tea has been drained; eggs and sausage breakfast in a little while.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Al, since I retired I have discovered that Monday is the best day of the week. The news programs I watch go back to the “regular” folks and most go back to work and school and get out of my way on the roads and in the stores. Pre-Covid of course.
Foolishly went to the local grocery store yesterday (Sunday) and it was packed. Okay, old man rant off!!!
25 heading to 31 with some light snow that fell overnight. Might get a little bit more today but not expecting much.
Coffee is tasting great and I’m starting to think about some breakfast. Probably my normal bowl of Raisin Bran and some toast.

It's gotten to the point with me that when I wake up, I have to think about what day it is.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I do the same thing. As soon as I sit up in bed each morning, I say to myself the day and date. After that, I consider whether I have anything I need to do that day. Then I get out of bed, pee, pop in my hearing aids, and follow the cat into the living room. Same thing every morning, like groundhog day.markiver54 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 10:44 amIt's gotten to the point with me that when I wake up, I have to think about what day it is.![]()

73° this morning. Took a spill walking the dogs this morning. It was dark and there was some of that coastal clay on the sidewalk I didn't see. That stuff is more slippery than owl poop. Left leg went out from under me and down I went. I'm okay but have a bruised ego.

Made my 2 week trip to the VA this AM for my usual hip poke. Got lucky, and my sweet nurse, Katy, got me set up for my 1st Covid shot, the Moderna version, # 2 in 28 days. She even got me hooked up with a shuttle to take me there & back. This is one big campus, I'd never made it on my own, a long way back to where it was.
