It was -6F at the range, with no wind at all today so I wanted to do some long range shooting with my Henry. No wind is rare here so have to take advantage while you can. Shooting 6.6 gn Universal, 200 gr LRNFP. Open sights on both targets.
50 yds, off hand standing (trying to do a little more of that to get comfortable). Pulling left a little.

100 yds from 1 knee. Ladder sight up and up one mark on the ladder gauge. What a difference no wind makes in trying to get the windage figured out. I can usually get the elevation because I know this rifle quite well now and the sights. After a few thousands rounds through it I better. But without fighting the cross wind, it shoots pretty true to point of aim. Took me 3 or 4 to get it dialed in. Check with binoculars. What a nice rifle. I love my other guns too, but not like this one. Funny too after shooting the BP rifle and the Highwall, the Henry feels like a carbine in my hands. Very small and easy to get on target.

Other than trying to keep my arthritic hands from seizing up, this was an enjoyable outing.
...sure wish I hadn't lost the top of my trigger finger years ago roping a big 'ol mama cow, darn inconvenient, there is NO circulation in that finger at all now. Makes for frosty shooting. Shoot safe, RR
