I have about 3 to 400 old LP's that I haven't listened to in quite a while. I also have an old ( but in great condition ) Sansui turntable. It is a linear tracking one, but there seems to be a problem, as the tone arm is sticking. Probably just needs a cleaning from non use. I will not take it apart myself, soo, I'm taking it on Monday to an audio service guy that was recommended to me.
Any other vinyl listeners out there?

Not really but I do have many albums from the 70’s and 80’s. My wife bought one of those turntables that transfers LP’s to digital but she hasn’t used it very much yet. It’s kind of a pain and I think she got frustrated with it.

Have about 100 LPs and maybe as many 45s in very good shape. Have a good turntable as well but I have not used it in a long time. I used to record on cassettes for when I was on the road and to save wear on my vinyl and I recently unboxed my cassette recorder to check it out. I was wondering if the tapes were still available and purchased a couple blocks of decent ones last week. I never did transfer my vinyl to CDs either. I have an amp and speakers set up in my shop and play music that I burned onto my phone from CDs I own and unlimited music that I get from Apple for $10 per month. I figured I would make some more tapes to play in that environment so I could listen to the music without damaging my vinyl. Saw an article that stated cassettes were making a come back with the new metallic tape but it is expensive.

I hear Ya Jake. Been carting these things around for many years. Just too many good memories to let go of.
Vinyl has made a huge comeback and some are worth good money as well.

With more time on my hands these days, I have been exploring some of my old interests. Every LP I have, has a special story or memory behind it.

Had hundreds at one time but all gone now. The fun part was the album art, foldouts, posters, liner notes. It was a whole experience getting a new album.

Sadly, I gave all of my vinyl away in the eighties after CDs were developed. I should have been smarter about that. I've bought thousands of dollars worth of CDs over the last 40 years, then converted them into 320 kbps MP3s, which is what I listen to today through my hearing aids and smartphone of all things. The benefit (glass half full) of getting old is that my hearing is not as precise as it once was, so the MP3s sound great.

Oddly, I did hang onto a very high end turntable and stereo receiver, both of which are in excellent condition. The stylus on that turntable cost me $150 back then. I also have a decent 7" four channel Akai reel-to-reel tape recorder from the eighties. I have no idea why I still keep them.

I remember it was great fun to wait for the next album to come out, sometimes FM radio would play a new track from it, then you'd check the release dates and be at the record store the day it arrived. Take it home, open it up and read all the stuff in it while you listened with headphones so you wouldn't miss anything and it had the special "studio" sound or if it was a live album you could close your eyes and you were there. I first picked up a guitar after hearing the White Album. Been playing ever since.

Good for you Keith! Don't know how I ended up with two copies of the White album, but glad to have them.

Most of my friends and bandmates loved Pink Floyd. I could never seem to get into it. I preferred Yes and ELP. Also a huge Todd Rundgren fan. Saw him live, he ran out on stage at the intro and took a flip on slippery stage floor. Went down hard. Played the whole set but his guitar wa so badly knocked out of tune fore the first song it was kinda funny.

I really like them as well. I will add ELO.
The music I enjoy is actually very diverse. I do of course favor the music of the 60's 70's and 80' however not confined to them.
My collection is primarily classic rock, but as the years have gone by, I have built a good CD collection including some blues and soft jazz etc. No room for any rap though.

I cannot imagine a world without music. When I'm down, it can help cheer me up. When I'm wound up, it can help me relax. It brings back memories, etc, etc,etc!
As you stated earlier, just looking at those jackets and reading about them is entertaining.☺
