45-70. on the range

Got my rifle back from the porting job.
And what a way to return a item to a customer.
The whole gun is covered in black milling dust
Inside and out. I can hardly work the action.
They will never see another dime from me.
And I paid 35.00 to have them disassemble and reassemble the rifle.
Now it's going to my gunsmith to have it completely striped down and cleaned.

Who was this that did such sloppy work?

That's a shame. I wonder what the reason will be?

Dropped it off to my dealer to be cleaned and he said he would be emailing them with my complaint. About the condition it was returned in.

My dealer emailed them, and got a phone call back
In about 20 mins.
He said, they don't know how it could happen.?
I had the gun Smith strip it. And clean it.
Took it to the range And can say in made a big diff.
In tameing the muzzle jump.
But found out it's shooting low.
So went back to the gun shop and had them put a shorter front fire site on it. And put the rear site at about half way up the elevation. And bore site it.
Then they had me take it out back to there range.
And shoot it at 50yds. I hit the 10 spot at 6 o'clock.
Dead on. So next trip to the club range I can fine tune my 450m. At last.

Took the 450m to the range With the Hornady ftx.
Ammo. After shooting at 50 yds. At the gun shop
Set up target at 75 yds. And it was shooting about a half inch high. So I haven't touch the sites .
Or shot it any farther. That's way more than I need
To hunt in the woods in the northeast.
I just have to shoot it with the 350 gr. Flat pt.
Iam sure the 325 ftx. Will work for now.
The porting job made a big diff.
Now the 450m is almost like shooting my 45-70
With factory loads.

all of them should serve you well .... being very, very old school, I really like the looks of the 300 jhp .... for deer hunting with jacketed bullets in our 45-70, my plans are to use Nosler's 300 gr Combined Technologies ===> http://www.nosler.com/45-70-govt-strong-actions-only/ <=== if I decide to go with a lead bullet, it will be HSM's hunting loads
