42 on its way to 54 later today with rain on New Year's Day .... only supposed to drop to 53 overnight with the front moving out .... the good news is a much better day on tap for tomorrow .... biggest project for today is making jerky .... some really good, thick sliced bacon, eggs and Folgers

45 out right now and headed to 57 today warmer tomorrow and Sunday. Im curious who won. Sure is taking Jim along time to make drawing tickets. I bet he’s having fun

33 heading to the upper 30’s with some mid-day rain on top of the snow we got day before last. Yesterday’s plowing was a chore with 10” of wet heavy snow followed by a little light rain. Used my side by side for my place but mostly just bounced off the berms and that’s an 1800 lb machine. Had to get my tractor out and mount the rear blade to do my neighbors. He has a very wide paved area between his house and shop and I knew the ATV wouldn’t handle it. Got-r-done.

Enjoying some coffee now but soon I will dive into the coffee cake Mrs. hatchdog made yesterday while I was plowing. Mmmmmm

Nice day in the low 40's. Gun cleaning day out in the workshop/saddle shed. All of them need a clean, so that's my afternoon planned.

Wow Hatch that is a great picture but whats in it sucks. Palm trees and sand are in view this am as I see the sun glistening off those big green fronds. 50 headed to the mid 60’s today

47 on its way to 69 later today .... dense fog .... this is slated to be the warmest day between now and when we are scheduled to pull out for Texas this coming Friday morning .... my hope is to check several things off of our pre-trip list .... no hurry for breakfast .... sipping Folgers, watching Two Mules for Sister Sara ..

Nice Al, I’m right there with you in my mind. I sure enjoyed the pictures you posted a couple of days ago.

Roper, you and your winds, I do see it’s pretty open in your area based on some pictures you have posted. Locally we’re mountainous and pretty well treed up but we have some valleys aligned with the northeast that we can get some very cold Canadian air streaming thru. 60 mph Chinook, well there goes any snow issues right?


Today it’s 36 heading to 40 with on and off rain and winds at 20 with 35-40 mph gusts. Or as Roper says, “a mild breeze”.

Gonna head into Deer Park and make payments on the two rifles I have on layaway and fill up my gas cans. Wow, party on hatchdog.

Nice picture RR, it definitely gets cold up in Canada. down here in Western washington it's 43 and rain.

Snow is melting like crazy. We are right at the base of the eastern slope of the Rockies, so the wind comes over the top and down the side like a freight train. Some ask if it blows like that all the time, I say no, sometimes it blows harder.

We already had snow and it actually lasted for more than five minutes.

Stevens Pass has received 198” this winter with 70” on the ground currently.

Power went out for 7 hours yesterday. Fortunately it was about 34º and it was still only 55º in the house. Was getting the generator set up to get the heat working when the power came back on. Lucked out. Someday I am going to have an automatic natural gas backup generator.
