Thanks for all the get well wishes. I'm on day 3 since the first symptoms started and so far they are no worse, I've had colds with worse symptoms so I am hoping for the best.dave77 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 7:21 pmI live alone and have enough groceries on hand to last for my 10 day quarantine, I do have close friend living in her 5th wheel in my back yard, we interact quite a bit with no masks, she just left to have her test, we think she will probably be positive but she is younger and doesn't have any of the underlying health issues I have so hopefully will do OK if she's positive. I will get the vaccine as soon as it becomes available.CT_Shooter wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 6:42 pm
I wish you have the best possible outcome, Dave, and that you can protect your friends and family as you recover. Even though you're positive, it's still recommended that you get the vaccine as soon as you're eligible. I hope you do.
Good news is my friend's test came back negative.

Re: The reality of Covid
Hang in there Dave. My daughter had it and the last symptom for her was getting her taste back. She's doing well now and I hope for the best for you. We are all praying for your recovery.
Re: The reality of Covid
Hope you improve quickly. Glad your symptoms are mild.
Re: The reality of Covid
Learned thru the VA website, that they will be giving the Covid vaccine @ the Murfreesboro, TN hospital, the one I use. I will be taking the vaccine as soon as it's available. At age 77, Diabetic, I can't afford not too.
Everything has risks. Driving 35 mi. to the hospital has risks.
Time will tell.

My wife and I both had it. Nasty stuff! We are over it now, but I don’t remember ever being that sick in my life. Prayers for those who are unfortunate enough to get it.
Re: The reality of Covid
Looks like I got lucky, 12 days since my first symptoms and 11 days since my positive covid test. Covid nurse said I could end my quarantine as soon as I went a day with no fever without taking a fever reducer. No Aleve and no temp since Friday. My only symptoms were slight congestion, fever mostly just over 100, it did hit 102 Thursday night and general tiredness/sleepiness, I did lose my taste and appetite for a few days. I may have been slightly more short of breath but with my COPD that's hard to say.
I intend to mask up and keep up social distancing but it's sounds like I'm fairly safe from re-infection for at least 4 months, should be eligible for the vaccination by then. Who knows how long we will have to put up with this, it may be with us for a long time.

Re: The reality of Covid
Glad to hear you have recovered from the Covid! My son's in-laws had it about a month ago and they still have some lingering effects from it.
Hopefully by mid 2021 the thing will taper off.

Re: The reality of Covid
A person I was with yesterday just called me and said her son and daughter-in-law just tested positive for Covid19. She was in contact with them so I’m self-isolating for the next two weeks.

Thanks Dave. I have a small group of neighbors that will be shopping for me because I’m going under the assumption I have it. If I do I think I can beat it and am not overly concerned. I just don’t want to pass it to someone not in good health.daytime dave wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 3:20 pmGene,

Re: The reality of Covid
Still, we rally around our own pretty well. I have been around folks where I work who have had it and no one knew. I had proper protective gear. Most don't.
