I would be interested to see how the Long Ranger compares with a classic bolt job in the same calibre, like the Rem 700 (at 100, 200, 300 yds).

we have my grandfather's early edition Model 94 Winchester 30-30 .... during his lifetime he took more deer and bear than I'm subject to see in mine .... much of his big game hunting was on the northern slope of Mt Mitchell in western NC .... it was rugged country and heavily forested to where a 40 yard shot was a considered to be a long one with 25 or less being the norm .... it has handled every factory brand of ammo I have tried in it but it has a affinity for Winchester 150 gr silvertips .... my hope is a Henry Long Ranger will produce tighter groups and it will be interesting to see how the real world effective range of the Long Ranger compares with Henry's 45-70
