The reality of Covid
Re: The reality of Covid
I was tested yesterday at a VA clinic. Most uncomfortable and slightly painful. I will let the forum know.

Re: The reality of Covid
I tested positive this morning. Felt like a just mild cold coming on but since I had a Dr. appt. tomorrow they wanted to test me. Still very mild symptoms, just a cough and some nasal congestion. Hope to stay out of the hospital but being 68 with COPD, diabetes and high blood pressure who knows. Sucks to have gotten it after avoiding it for so long and it only being a couple of months away from the vaccine being available for us high risk people.

Re: The reality of Covid
I wish you have the best possible outcome, Dave, and that you can protect your friends and family as you recover. Even though you're positive, it's still recommended that you get the vaccine as soon as you're eligible. I hope you do.dave77 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 6:36 pmI tested positive this morning. Re: The reality of Covid
I live alone and have enough groceries on hand to last for my 10 day quarantine, I do have close friend living in her 5th wheel in my back yard, we interact quite a bit with no masks, she just left to have her test, we think she will probably be positive but she is younger and doesn't have any of the underlying health issues I have so hopefully will do OK if she's positive. I will get the vaccine as soon as it becomes available.CT_Shooter wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 6:42 pm

Re: The reality of Covid
Let's hope the vaccine doesn't cause issues, just heard today on news an ER worker in Alaska ended up in the ER with weird rash & racing heartbeat shortly after getting the shot. Sounds like she'll be ok. Take care out there folks.

Re: The reality of Covid
Certainly hope you endure the virus and fight it off Dave.
For the benefit of everyone here though, I have to ask; did you mask and follow all the other guidelines prior to your becoming infected?
I have a friend in his lower 60's who worked construction and was a non mask wearer. He died last week!!!

Yes, always wore a mask (except at home and in my car) and social distanced as much as possible. I'm retired so only exposure was shopping. My friend is also a dedicated mask wearer although her test results are not back yet so we don't know if she's positive. It's my understanding that masks do help a lot they're not 100% effective.markiver54 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 9:22 pmCertainly hope you endure the virus and fight it off Dave.
